DH started new Job gone for 12 days
Dh started his New job as an over the road truck driver today. We both cried. We knew this was coming and after months of searching for a job this was our last resort. We know that we can do this. He will be gone for 12 days and home for two for about the next 6 months or so. Then he may be able to start looking for a job locally. If not it will be at most a year then for sure he'll be able to find something closer. I'm going to miss him, but we are staying strong and keeping things in perspective. I have a friend who's husband is being deployed this week for 4 months. At least DH is not being deployed I couldn't imagine that feeling. So I think I'll be around here a lot more :-)

Re: DH started new Job gone for 12 days
Hang in there. You will be in one location together before you know it. Look back at all the lovely wedding pictures whenever you miss him. We'll be around to entertain you when you are bored.
He'll be back before you know it!
I second redshoes - no doubt you'll miss your H when he's away, but it's only a matter of time until you'll be back together again.
You seem to have a pretty good attitude about it - I'm sure you'll both get through this and look back on it and know it made you stronger. Good luck!
Where we met - Mount Isa
a small mining town in the Australian Outback. Neither of us are from there but we both moved there in the second last year of highschool. He was moved next to me in maths class to stop him talking. It didn't work.
my read shelf:
aww hugs to you girl- My H *is* deployed and I won't see him again until June at the earliest! It's been 3 days since I'v even heard his voice and for a couple that has dealt with this before, you'd think it'd get easier - well it doesn't - it SUCKS!!
Just know that your husband misses you just as much and try to find comfort in knowing there's a whole community of separated spouses that supports you!!
