The board is sloooooow! So... a poll. :)

    1. If married, look at your wedding band: Sparkling clean or filthy? Somewhere in the middle.

    2.  What's the last non-food item you purchased?  MAC lipgloss. And a suit for DH

    3. Share with us a favorite childhood memory of yours (let's say through age 18)  Went to Disneyland with my entire family when I was in 4th grade (cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc). My parents were the only ones that paid for their own trip - my grandparents paid for everyone else because they were all "broke."  However, during the entire trip, my cousins got EVERY souvenir they wanted while my brother and I got...nothing.  Which was fine.  Except we went to Sea World and I totally fell in love with this huge stuffed dolphin. It was $50 which is a lot of money now and was definitely a massive amount of money then (esp to my parents).  My parents said no, we left Sea World, all the while my cousins are carrying out nine new shirts and fifteen balloons a piece.  We waited around for my dad and waited and waited - where the hell was he?  Next thing we know, he comes running out of Sea World, holding that huge dolphin above his head.  I named him Don Shula and he still sleeps with me.  My SD and Niles my cat drags him around the house, too.  Maybe its PMS but I am totally crying remembering it. I hate growing up.

    4. You find $50 on the ground, and no one is around to claim it or looking for it. What do you do?  CLAIM IT!

    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch.  If I knew what my dream kitchen looked like, we would be renovating ours right now.  I just don't know!  Probably white cabinets - a different knob on each cabinet - but open shelving for my dishes.  Farmhouse sink.  48 inch Viking gas range. Old fashioned countertops with a stainless steel edge.  Black and white checkered flooring.  Faucet above the stove.  An island that doubles as seating space.  Chandelier, of course. In the middle between 1950s and extremely traditional - no french country.

  • 1. If married, look at your wedding band: Sparkling clean or filthy? Filthy. Ugh. I need to get it cleaned pronto.

    2.  What's the last non-food item you purchased? New knives this morning. I'm in desperate need of actual kitchen knifes to use for cutting stuff.

    3. Share with us a favorite childhood memory of yours (let's say through age 18) Moving to Oklahoma when I was 8. I was super sad to leave Hawaii [and all my mom's family behind, and the beaches, and the warm weather...], but we flew to California and then drove to Oklahoma. That was the best.summer.ever. We went to DisneyLand, saw family on the mainland I'd never met before, and it was my first real encounter with this side of the United States. It was so fun.

    4. You find $50 on the ground, and no one is around to claim it or looking for it. What do you do? If it was just on the ground, I'd probably keep it [after looking around to see if someone was clearly searching for it]. If I found it in a store or something, I'd turn it in.

    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch.

    2.  What's the last non-food item you purchased? Ordered a boucle jacket and some jeans online the other night.

    3. Share with us a favorite childhood memory of yours (let's say through age 18) Hmm. I have a ton. Since everyone else is talking about Disneyland, we'll go with when my grandparents took all their kids/grandkids on a Disney cruise. I was 15. We all had such an amazing time.

    4. You find $50 on the ground, and no one is around to claim it or looking for it. What do you do? Keep it!

    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch. Really dark cabinets, a giant butcher block island with a different color wood than the cabinets, some glass front cabinets (but not all!), a nook with a desk, subway tile backsplash (but probably those small 1 x 2 subway tiles), monster-sized stove, double ovens, pot filler faucet, and a very rich-colored granite for countertops. Oh, and a chandelier or two above the island. And storage, storage, storage!!

    2. What's the last non-food item you purchased? Probably the swivel sweeper I bought the other day.

    3. Share with us a favorite childhood memory of yours (let's say through age 18) taking the Sunday paper to my Grandpa and him giving me a quarter (this was about 10-15 years ago so .25 cents was alot)

    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch. Big, open, with a bar for eating and an island for more room with possibly a sink in it. It would be some what french country style, a farm house sink, a commerical grade range with a faucet over it, tons of cabinets stained black with stanless steel appliances and stained cement countertops. My dream kitchen is about 300-400 sq feet-crazy, I know.

    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch. I would just like a non-galley style kitchen. I haven't really thought about a "dream" kitchen as I am usually focused on either improving what I have for minimal cost, or making due with what I have (old habit instilled in me from mom and my job).

    3. Share with us a favorite childhood memory of yours (let's say through age 18) My grandma would come to visit us twice a year and she would always take us out to pick out a toy for her to bring back for "Larry's grandkids"  becuase they were the same ages we were.  I don't think Larry ever even had grandkids but we were young and dumb.  Then she would leave the toys for us when she left.

My folks were really supportive and went to all the games we marched at (even the away ones), and it was just such a fun time. 4. You find $50 on the ground, and no one is around to claim it or looking for it. What do you do? I'd hang onto it, if there's not someone clearly looking for it. Money is one of those things you can't trace back.
    5. Describe (and/or PIP) your dream kitchen. If you need some inspiration pics, houzz.com has a bunch.  Ooh. Stainless steel, highly energy efficient, yet somehow recyclable appliances. My step MIL has such a cool counter top - it's black with with sparkles in it . It sounds atrocious, but I think it's really neat. Lots of counter space and cupboards, and kind of open. I also like those faucets that you can tap to turn on so you don't contaminate things, too. I've also heard of cement countertops with recycled glass to give it sparkle - I love that idea, too.
