Best Baby Shower Gift?

What was the best/most useful baby shower gift that you received?  I know a lot of things that expectant moms think they will need go unused or are used a lot less than anticipated.  I am pretty sure we've posted about this before, but I cannot find it.  TIA!

  • Hey!  Long time no see!

    What is your price range?

The best gift I received was a breast pump.  But I doubt you are willing to spend $300 LOL!

Hey!  Lol...you are right about not wanting to spend $300!  Something under $75-$80 as I have already bought one gift for her.

  • One of my best gifts was a step and play off of my registry. I really wanted it and was sooo happy to open it. But if you were just looking over my registry you wouldn't have known that would be my favorite thing...is there someone you can ask?

I have also heard of people ordering from those frozen steak places to have meals ready when the baby first comes and mom and dad are super busy. That would be awesome!!

Maybe something like a gift certificate for a pregnancy massage?

    GL!

I tied to pull my registry for BRU and it has since been deleted :(  It seems like such a long time ago that Macy was an infant, I have forgotten what was useful!

How about a playmat?  I remember using that often in the mornings when I was getting ready for work.  Macy like the lights and sounds and it seemed to entertain her.

Or how about going in with a friend and getting a video monitor?  I loved ours.

Or what about a nice baby book from Etsy?  I wanted to do something like this for Macy but put it off and at the last minute I ended up with a Winnie the Pooh book from Walmart......yuck.  One day I would like to buy her a nice one!

And of course, I don't know any mom who would turn down a GC to Janie and Jack!  It's a must that Macy look cute when we leave the house.  I wish I had the same standard for myself......LOL

There is a Janie and Jack in International Plaza and they had the cutest stuff for the holidays! I cannot wait to see what they have next year!

  • Honestly, I'd probably go with something off the registry.  People keep asking me what I want, and I really just want them to buy off the registry, or else I'm going to end up having to spend a bunch of money on things that don't get bought. lol

  • The thing we use the most is our bottle steamer. I love that it is so simple. The brand is BabyPro.

Also our highchair though that was a little more expensive. A few of our friends went in on it.

And GC to BRU. We used our GC and were able to buy a $300 Chicco travel system without spending a dime!

OK-that was 3, but it is too hard to narrow down.

  • If you can swing it, something nice for Mama would be a real treat like a massage. OMG, I'll always remember the massage I had in third tri,

For baby, you can't go wrong if you stick to the registry, but off registry items I highly recommend are the miracle blanket and the baby crack machine

DH says something for mom and dad, like dinner for two for the expectant parents. They are probably saving right now and not splurging much on themselves, so it's a good idea for them to spend some quality time together right now.

Stay away from clothes and don't get anything, including diapers, in newborn size. Lily was born too big for newborn size.

  • I keep reading that as Best BUY Shower gift.

I would say my boppy.  I put in on the registry with no intentions of actually buying it if it wasn't a gift.  I had no real plans to use it.  But, I have used it every day since I got it.  It was helpful with breast feeding, and dd loved to lay in it and now sit in it.  We also got a formula holder (one of the ones that are divided)  that is so helpful.  I also am starting to use her snack cups now that she is eating solids and I love them.

These are the two things I was trying to think of when I wrote this post!  Thanks!
