Ok, I know it's crazy (and early still), but I am waiting for this bump to show up like nothing else, it's driving me up the wall! Every morning, I wake up and prod around in my lower abdomen, hoping that my molehill (which at this point consists mostly of over indulgences in roast beef, twice baked potatoes and club sandwiches) will have morphed into a little mountain. I know, I know it'll happen when it's time, but seriously, I want me a bump! It would probably help if I was a little more, ahem, fit but whatevs, I want it. Now. Ok, I'll take my pity party on down the line now- has anyone else had this frustration, or am I completely lamesauce about this?

Re: Desperately Seeking Bump
Yes, this needs to happen so when you ask questions like this we can say "No no silly girl, you are like months away from having any bump" or "Yeah, where is your bump?!" I have no recollection of how far in you are.
When I was doing my weekly/ biweekly belly pictures, I went through a period of like 6 weeks where I got sick of taking pictures of my mostly bloaty, fatty stomach. I picked back up around 14 weeks where I was slightly bigger- though no bump to be seen.
Then around the halfway mark I had something that at least stuck out- it still wasn't super bumpy, but it was better than nothing.
It wasn't until about 23 weeks that I really "popped"- then it was obvious that I was pregnant and I felt like I filled out my maternity clothes properly.
But be careful what you wish for, because before you know it, your bump has become a blimp and you're huge!
With your first, it just takes a while to get all stretched out for that little one to show. I hear with your second you look massively pregnant by like 8 weeks!!!

Yeah, you've got a little while until you're get a real bump. It's not uncommon to be 5 months along before you're noticably pregnant with a first baby.
Oh dear, if I could "gift" you some of mine, I totally would.
Delia is getting pretty heavy and rolling over in bed is a chore...I am just about ready to draft up that eviction notice...
I could post a picture of my belly about 2 weeks before I delivered but I wouldn't want to scare you away. Ha ha.
I can't wait for you to get a baby bump though, I bet you will be one who has the cutest basketball bump.
Yes, it is always nice to "pop" instead of just looking chunky. I was right there with you. Yay for almost finishing up the 1st tri!!!! I didn't have the beginnings of a bump until 5 or so months (the first time). Haha, this time, I was fully bumping at like 2 months, hahaha..

If your not allowed in, I can invite you
Oh, how I wish I will be one of the Cute Bumpers, although I'm not holding my breath. I've already warned DH that I'm going to be a lot closer to the Hot Mess look, and I think he's finally accepting it. So long as the kid is healthy and happy right??
Ooh, would you invite me please? Do you need my email or anything? If so, it's moriahgeaghan at gmail

I had a co-worker call me huge at 4 months... but I didn't feel that big... but by the end I was ready to go because she called me huge everyday at least twice a day!
I am with ya! People who know I am pregnant can look at my belly and appreciate there is a baby there, however those that dont know probably just think I am fat. My belly has definatly popped out in the last week though and it doesnt go away even when I lay down. You will get there soon!!
And where is your ticker lady??
Bleah, I remember that feeling! It especially sucked because of how bloated I was for the first several weeks (okay, the whole first trimester). I think I started showing with Owen around 4 months.
And Erika's right, the second time around, you show instantly. I was in maternity shorts by 1 month pregnant!
It took forever for me to look pregnant, and it was annoying. I have huge boobs too, so my belly was tucked under them forever. I got the "are you sure you're that far along, are the doctor's concerned the baby is too small?" right up until the end. Surprise, surprise that there was a 9lb 4oz kid in there.
I totally understand the idea of waiting to create a ticker. I wanted to be sure everything was ok before I made such a declaration.
I started wearing actual maternity clothes at 14 weeks - but had grown out of many of my regular clothes before then - thighs, butt, waist, boobs. I didn't think I was showing, but apparently all my coworkers were gossiping and whispering about my expected announcement long before I was ready to announce (we had some genetic concerns with baby, and weren't ready to invite anyone on our rollercoaster ride, even family). We told at 13w6d.
I became very "thick-waisted" before I developed a bump - I lost the curves at my waist. I'm not sure what my coworkers saw, since I didn't see a bump until about 15 or 16 weeks.
My Wedding Bio! Not updated in a LONG time!
Aww it'll come soon enough!! I have the opposite problem where I'm constantly asked if I'm "sure there aren't 2 in there??" It's SO annoying!! Congrats for almost being done w/ the 1st tri though - isn't it nuts to think you're almost in the 2nd tri??
