The contestants on the Biggest Loser p*ss me off

I have the Biggest Loser on as I'm doing other things around the apartment, and the contestants just annoy me.  I hate that every single one of them blames being fat on something that happened in their past or 'not knowing what to do'.

Give me a break.  I'm over weight and always have been but that's because I like to eat and I'm lazy.  Last year I lost 50lbs in 4 months because I ate better and went to the gym at least 4 times a week.  Prior to the wedding I lost 15lbs in 3 weeks by doing the same thing.  Losing weight takes hard work and dedication and it just really bothers me that these people come on this show saying they couldn't do it without the Biggest Loser.  Yes you can, you just have to stop being lazy which is what got you into this situation in the first place.

End rant.

  • Oh. Em. Gee...don't get me started!  Ron teases me all the time about "the zeal of the recently reformed".  I'm fat, and I know it, and I know exactly why, and I know what I'm doing about it.  I know how hard it is, and, on the flip side, I know which parts of it aren't as hard, so I have less than zero tolerance for whiners and people who make excuses.

I don't know which are worse...the people who say they can't do it on their own or the ones who use their weight as an excuse not to have a life.  Hello...that girl at work that you want to be friends with who doesn't give you the time of day?  She doesn't ignore you because you're fat, she ignores you because you sit in a corner and stare at her instead of starting a conversation like a human being.  You don't get dates for the same reason.  I've been a big girl all of my adult life, and I've never had any shortage of dates, so brush your hair, do your makeup, put on the nicest outfit you have, (and spare me the crap about how there's nothing cute in your size...there is, you just can't walk in and pull it off the rack immediately.  You have to actually LOOK for it!) and go freaking TALK to someone!  You'd be amazed what a difference it makes.  So many people are so quick to blame others for their attitudes towards fat people, when really, it's fat people's attitudes towards themselves that need the makeover.

Ummm, yeah...end rant.  Sorry about the wall of text!  Can you tell it frustrates the pee out of me?

Can we be best friends? lol you literally took the thoughts right out of my mind.  I've always been big and have always had more dates than any of my skinny friends.  Best story, when I was a freshman in highschool I got asked to the prom by a senior and none of my other friends did.  Come to find out, my three 'best friends' were talking behind my back and had said, "omg, we can't believe Xan got asked and we didn't!  We thought we'd all get asked way before she ever did"  BIATCHES TAKE THAT!  lol  It still makes me happy to this day.

I totally agree girls!  It's all about attitude and personality.  I know some super skinny chicks who men won't go near because they're total flakes. I've been a big girl for many years and I've never had to look to hard for dates or for really great friends.  Sure, I'd love to be thinner and healthier, and I know I just need to get off my a*s and do it.

  • This is why I can't watch it anymore.

When I went for the try-out, they asked, "What are the most common stereotypes of fat people?" Many of them answered over top of me and wouldn't let me talk, "That we are lazy, aren't able to get dates, blah blah blah."  My stereotype? I've been told that I am nice to everyone because I am fat. That isn't something I believe.

I remember one of the guys I was interviewed with and he said that people wouldn't think he would be able to do a split, but that he could. Which seriously, highly doubtful. He even claimed he could run a marathon. Maybe if you trained?! And why would you need to be on the show if you could already do those things.

I used to like the show because it focused on the right things. Stuff does have to happen though to cause one to become stressed. And those that are stress eaters really can binge (hell I'm one of them!). They can eat their life away.

I don't watch the show bc of this stuff. I just want to see them busting their asses working out and figuring out how to eat - the psychoanalysis stuff annoys the crap out of me.

  • I had to stop watching it a few seasons ago, because I couldn't stand the fact that it had morphed into getting the fattest-fatties possible. The first couple of seasons, I don't think there was anyone over 250/300 pounds. And it was about eating healthier and exercising.  Now, it's just a freak show.  Most people (barring some sort of medical issue) don't get to 500+ pounds without realizing you're getting to 500 pounds.  When you saw the 3 in front, you didn't think maybe it was time to do something about it?  I just feel like it's the worst kind of exploitation now, and it stopped being fun for me to watch.

Plus, I found myself eating constantly during the show. I don't know what it was. My former roommate and I used to watch it, and eat a bowl of popcorn. Then it switched to ice cream. The show was making me fat!  : )

  • I have never watched it and don't really want to, because I think people are just trying to make money off of their weight.  My husband used to be over 500 pounds, because of bad eating habits from the time he was a child, and lack of self discipline.  He chose to have weight loss surgery but also realized that in order for it to be worth anything he needed to discipline himself.  We don't always make the best choices and are still both heavier people, but we certainly aren't blaming anyone but ourselves and aren't trying to get others to feel bad for us!
