Wife Chop?

Hi Ladies, Since all of us are done with the whole bride thing, who's going for the "wife chop"? I spent the year before the wedding growing out my hair and can't wait to get rid of this (appointment scheduled for friday)...who's with me? Anyone else cutting off hair you grew for the wedding?

Re: Wife Chop?

  • Oh I already did. I Grew my hair out only for  our wedding. My hair has always been short, I love it short and DH prefers it that way too. I Chopped it off on the 21st and the reaction that I"m getting from people is "wow that ist he Sarah I know". Now I feel like I looked Hideous with long hair :-). I also sang the song Na na nana na na nana hey hey goodbye when she chopped my hair. I absolutely love it and I'm using sooo much less shampoo!

Days until I become Mrs. C
  • I've always been a long hair girl and grew it especially long for the wedding. Now I kind of like the long locks and want to rock more of a repunzel look while I can still get away with it!
  • I've done anything and everything with my hair in the past - bright red, dreadlocks (twice!) and then hair about an inch long after I cut them off.

I also grew my hair for the wedding, but H likes my hair long (and I do too), but I'm finding the blonde a bit too high-maintenance... I'm thinking of going with a warm caramel / light brown colour?

    I might be up for a wife-dye instead of a wife-chop :D

     PIP your new do's girls!

Where we met - Mount Isa
a small mining town in the Australian Outback. Neither of us are from there but we both moved there in the second last year of highschool. He was moved next to me in maths class to stop him talking. It didn't work.
  • I said I was going to have it cut the day after the wedding, but with travel and holidays, that didn't happen. If it doesn't happen this weekend, it will next, cause it's driving me nuts!

  • I always said I was going to cut my hair after the wedding, but when I was feeling reminiscent and putting all these pictures up on FB, I saw some pictures of me with really long hair and decided I missed it, so I actually changed my mind and decided to grow it out again. I'm wearing it down a lot more then I used to. Before, it was in a ponytail or a braid 24/7.

  • I cut mine aboout 10 or so inches the day after the wedding.  I loved how it looked for the wedding, but I was so tired of how long it took to do everyday.  I (and DH) like my hair a lot now and it's so much easier to work with.
