**Mrkyrain** Questions re: your Miele vacuum?
Lurker popping in... I saw below that you have a Miele vacuum. I am wondering what model you have and what you feel are the pros/cons.
I am looking at the Miele S2120 Olympus, as I am not a fan of our current Eureka upright.
Thanks
Re: **Mrkyrain** Questions re: your Miele vacuum?
I'm also a lurker, and I know you didn't ask me, but I thought I might contribute. I just bought the Miele Salsa. I have a Siberian Husky and a Beagle in the house and was looking for a vacuum that could handle all of the pet hair and dander. The Miele blows our old vaccuum out of the water.
Pros: The swivel head makes it easy to manuever around corners. It's quiet. It has amazing power. It came with a 7-year motor warrenty and a lifetime belt warrenty. It's a bagged vaccuum, so the dust and dander is filtered out of the air (as opposed to bagless vaccuums that send a lot of it back out into the house). Clean-up is easy- just throw the bag away when it gets full. My carpets have never been so clean! It took care of the husky fur with no problem!
Cons: It's expensive. The vaccuum itself (depending on the model) cost $500-600. It's slightly heavier than my old vaccuum, but still managable. You have to buy bags for the vaccuum- we were told to expect to go through 4-5 per year (a box of 4 is $20). The filter will have to be replaced once or twice a year as well, and that is $50.
All in all, I think it's definitely worth the money. I hope this helps!!

Hello!
Lurker as well, but I was wondering if you had ever used a Dyson and if you liked the Miele better than the Dyson?
We bought the Dyson pet vacuum and it has NOT lived up to my expectations, not even close. I'm looking for something better, we have a laboradoodle (who sheds a ton, even though they're supposed to barely do that) and a shepherd/husky mix.
So I'd love to hear any comparison anyone has!
Thanks for the info on the Miele. I had wondered about the cost of bags so that info was helpful
We have a new home and had a centeral vac roughed in, but I have never been a fan of them so I'd rather just buy a cannister vac.
My budget is around $800, so I am hoping to get a high end vac that can handle the hair of our 3 cats. I did alot of reading on the Dyson Animal (which was my first choice) but there are mixed reviews so I am thinking that it's not the one for us.
Right now I am debating between a Sebo or Miele. It has to work awesome on carpet and hardwood as we have an equal amount of each.
I have the Miele Titan.
Pros: suction, flexibility (meaning can easily do rugs, hardwood, area rugs), longevity
Cons: price, a little difficult to change the head
Overall, this vacuum blows away any other vacuum I have used including Dyson (which I am not a huge fan of).
