should not own animals!
I received an e-mail yesterday about a dog that needed a foster home and it was so heart wrenching!
Here's the e-mail (edited to omit location information):
We?ve been contacted by ****** in Wisconsin to take in an 8 ? yr old
male who was removed from his home by the animal humane officer . Owner was a hoarder of ?stuff?. Happy (the basset) had
not been outside in 2 years. His nails had grown
over his paws, through his paws and out again (or something like that.) ***** had that surgically taken care of, as well as getting him neutered.
All that occurred on 12/21. Happy is friendly, seeks attention, loves
his toys, but if you touch him at/near his
paws, or in the case of another worker, try to put a harness on him, he
snaps. Happy is underweight. He is eating dog food at ***** but in his
former home he was eating cat food. He is good with cats (lived with 2
of them.) ***** is going to dog-test him and
let me know the results. He is fine wearing a basket muzzle for any
procedures or handling that is needed. He will be updated on
vaccinations and microchipped before he leaves *****. When he first
arrived at **** and went outside he pottied right away; he
had been keeping his kennel clean but he?s been there a few weeks now
and can?t keep the kennel clean given the time he spends in there.
We most likely will not take this dog as a foster but God Bless whoever does! I hope the dog gets better soon!
Re: Some People....
Thats horrible, I cant imagine not letting the dog out wtf kind of person does that?
I can't believe people at times...Hope Happy finds a wonderful, loving home with a big back yard that he can run in all day if he wants!
