Happy 2011 everyone! Hope you are having a good start to the new year. We've all been sick here and today is the first day I feel "normal" again and want to be online for more than 5 minutes.
I applied for my dream job and was so nervous when I got the automated response that they have my resume. Hopefully I'll hear something soon, but they are notoriously slow in the hiring process, so we'll see.
I'm off to read some posts and catch up on everything, just wanted to say hi : )
What's going on with you today?

Re: Hi Ladies!
Happy 2011 mb! Sorry to hear y'all have been sick. It's the worst when it goes through the whole family.
Congratulations on applying for the job. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get an interview sometime soon.
Nothing much going on here today. Alex got his first 2 teeth, so he's been a cranky pants for the past couple weeks, and work has been kicking my butt this week(again). I'm working on revisions for the grant. I really just want to go home and sleep though.
::job dust:: to mb!
Not too much here. I had an appointment with a staffing agency to discuss career placement positions, but it was pretty much a flop. Apparently my minimum salary requirement (which really is peanuts) is putting me out of the running for things.
I need to de-Christmas my house, but the thought of tearing the tree makes me all anxious and tired.
Oh, and I'm almost done putting the final touches on my blog re-design.

Thanks V! I hope the grant revisions are easier for you & Alex gets back to his old self soon.
Thanks mamie!
That stinks about the staffing agency. I'm sending ::job dust:: back at you. Hope something you'll love comes along soon. Are there any other staffing agencies or head hunters you could try?
I have to de-Christmas my house too but am avoiding it. It makes me sad and the house looks so empty when everything is down. I think it will get done this weekend.
Can't wait to see the new blog design. Would you want to take a stab at mine when you're done with yours? Pretty please ; ) My email is maribethdotgoforth atgmail if you're interested.

Teething sounds like a hard stage--I hope he goes back to being sweet and cuddly.
Can I ask a weird question? Is your position built arounds one grant? Or has the grant just been your main responsibility for a while? I ask because I have a friend who works for a university with grants, and I don't quite understand it. What will you do when the grant ends?
ETA I'm not being jugemental--just curious. I had some grant-writing practice in grad school, and it was all so overwhelming I can't imagine doing it full time.
