Wednesday OFB check in!!!!!

How's everyone doing so far this week???  Is there anything that's working particularly well????

I'm doing pretty well eating.  I've restarted weight watchers, and I love that fruits are zero points.  So far that's been working.  I'm struggling to motivate myself to exercise though.  But I think I want to get my eating under control before I start exercising again.

Re: Wednesday OFB check in!!!!!

  • Oh, and no booze during the work week.  That's actually helped me not over eat at dinner.
  • I love the free fruits and veggies!  They really keep me going.

I went to weigh-in yesterday and lost another 1.4 lbs.  Pretty impressed since I ate Chipotle the night before.  Embarrassed  That's what I love about WW.  I can still eat what I want and lose.

What kind of exercise are you thinking about trying?  I kind of want to attempt C25K but I'm pretty intimidated by it.

  • I think I'm doing ok. I haven't weighed myself. I knew I should have weighed myself last week, but I didn't. My scale isn't even out of the box yet. Embarrassed

Right now my eating plan is basically, eat VERY healthy & low fat throughout the day, and then eat what I want for dinner without feeling guilty about it. So far it's working, or at least I'm not feeling guilty.

When I say I eat whatever I want for dinner, I mean that within reason. I cook pretty healthy (or try to) at home and we at home 70% of the time. Any time we eat out I'm trying to make good choices, not always the healthiest choice, but a good choice. For example I'll skip the french fries, or at least only eat a few and then pass on the rest.

I haven't been exercising lately and I know I need to start again.

  • I walked for 40 minutes around my building on my lunch today...baby steps:)

I'm trying to make it hard for myself to make excuses not to at least walk on lunch.  So today I bought a new pair of sneakers that I'm going to keep under my desk...that way I'll always have comfy walking shoes with me.

Such a good idea!  Then you have it out of the way when you're off work.

  • I'm down 2 pounds since I got back from Vacation.  I took last night off as far as excecising since I had done a lot of activity in the 5+ days prior.  But I got back on the treadmill tonight.  WOOHOO.  I'm thinking of start C25K on Sunday...

For dinner... grilled chicken, steamed broccoli and brown rice.  I may make a sweet potato instead of the rice... ooh my tums is growling!

  • I've been doing okay but definitely a few slip-ups when it comes to snacks.  I have managed to fit in more fruits and veggies though so that's a plus.

I also started making Green Monsters for breakfast again and I find that helps start the day off right with 3 servings of fruits/veggies in one smoothie.

    Anniversary
  • I did C25K last year and it really got me in great running shape. I want to start running again. I'm planning on doing several 5 and 10ks throughput the year and a half marathon. But alas....it will begin as soon as I have my eating under control. Good job so far everyone!!!!
  • So far so good! Other than a spoonful of mash potatoes from my coworkers lunch, I haven't deviated at all. Like you I decided not to put too much pressure on myself and focus on eating better. I hope to get back in the exercise routine next week. The major diet overhaul plus getting back to normal life after the holidays was enough for this week.

Now for a TMI. If I could poop, I think I'd lose 5 lbs. I think I'll give it another day or two and then on to a laxative. It's been since Saturday morning. That afternoon I ate a ton of chili. How could that all still be in there!?!

  • Worked out Sun, Mon, Tues, Weds. Yay! I am doing the C25K and yesterday's run kicked my as$. Like majorly. I finished it... barely.

I also restarted tracking for WW on Monday. I took a few days off with New Years. I didn't want to see all that alcohol on there. :)

  • My eating this week has only been okay.  We had a bottle of wine with Tuesday night's dinner.  I am back to drinking more water.

Tonight I'm running Wk5 Day 3 of C25K.  That is the straight 20 minute run.  It should be interesting.  DH is coming out to run with me although he is running 4 miles.  I told him that he will probably pass me twice.

Yeah, it's nice having it out of the way.  The time that I was most successful with losing weight was when I worked out at curve's on my lunch break.  They used to have a location in my building.  I totally miss that.  My exercise went out the window when they moved out :(

  • I downloaded the C25K program on my phone and plan to start next week.  I know I've lost at least a little bit of weight, all my pants are falling down.  I have yet to weigh myself though, the scale and I are not friends.  Thankfully we have a gym here at work so I can go before or after work.  I'd like to go during lunch, but I don't want to be all hot returning to work and I don't want to shower and get redressed again for a few hours of work. I'm grocery shopping today, we'll see how easy it is to shop healthy on a super tight budget this week....
  • I noticed I gained a few pounds during the holidays, but am back to my weight before they came along. I'm on Week 3 of my 8k training, so I'm up to running 2.75 miles. But, now that I'm no longer on vacation, I find trying to go to the gym Tues-Thurs when I get home from work not so easy. I didn't get home from work until 7pm last night and had zero motivation to go. Eating-wise, I'm doing better now that I'm back to my normal work routine, so that's good.

  • I'm doing Weight Watchers too, but am only on my first week.  So far, I really like it.  I have found it to not be too difficult to stay within my points.  I am even having Chipotle for dinner tonight, and I am excited that what I normally get there is only 13 points!  I am having a real problem getting motivated to excercise though.  I have been trying to atleast take the dogs for a long walk everyday, but it freaking cold out!  I'm weighing in on Saturday..so we shall see!
