Hippy Huggies

Anyone used the "organic" Huggies? When he was first home we used Pampers Swaddlers and I like them. Seth saw the Huggies today. We're getting everything together for daycare...they won't do cloth dipes.

Also, where do you buy your disposables in bulk for cheap?

Re: Hippy Huggies

  • I buy at BJ's. Luvs are cheap there and they always have $5 coupons. Some people hate Luvs but they have been fine for us.  Also, the BJ's brand is good (I use both) and the BJ's brand doesn't have any scent which is nice.  They don't turn out to really be cheaper though because they never have a coupon for that brand.  They are the same price (with Luvs coupon) but fewer diapers per box.
  • isn't this the lady that said she would? or the other place in gardiner?

anyway, check Sam's Club.  They have Pampers, Huggies and Member's Mark brand.  My daycare provides Huggies when she runs out of cloth or when I forget to bring them in.  I had a pack of the Natural Huggies and I really didn't like them.  They were huge on her.  Might be ok now that she's bigger though.

  • You can get disposables really cheap from Amazon if you're signed up for Amazon Mom and you do the subscribe and save -- gives you a total of 30% off.  (If you don't want to keep the subscription, you can cancel at any time.)

This - I just signed up for the subscription for Josh every 2 months and the case i got of pampers (I HATED huggies) was almost 200 diapers for $27 and change.

this.  unfortunately we preordered a bunch from amazon when i had extra 20% coupons and i have ones i'm trying to sell on craigslist.  way to be an advanced planner, jackie.

your daycare provider won't even do pockets diapers?  that seems a little crazy...because they're just as easy as disposables since you'll be the one doing all the work.  would they be willing to try for a week just to see if it's really more work? it stinks that you bought the cloth and then have to buy disposables too.

  • We really like our Nature Baby Care diapers -- they're made from corn so they are more environmentally friendly. We don't use them at night though, as they don't seem to hold as much and we don't want to take the chance of night leaking. We do use the Huggies Natural at night and are happy with them.

We used these for the girls as well. They all had really sensitive skin and these were the only diapers we could find that wouldn't leave them with a horrible rash. I ordered from Diapers.com, but I'm sure you could find them elsewhere for much cheaper.

  • I think we used pretty much every brand when the boys were in disposables because the teachers at Josh's school bought two boxes a week for about 20 weeks (yep we had a lot of diapers!! we didn't buy diapers until the boys were almost 1 unless we needed a few extras in a particular size) and I definitely prefer Huggies, that is what I buy if I need disposables for anything and that is what MIL buys because she won't use cloth.

We bought our diapers at BJs, along with wipes.

Not sure how much they are on Diapers.com, but on Amazon using Amazon moms we got 144 diapers for $29.00

  • I agree with Amazon using Amazon Mom and Subscribe & Save (which I always cancel as soon as possible.) We tried all of the "green" disposables like Nature Care, 7th Gen, Huggies Natural and Earth's Best before we switched to cloth. We liked Earth's Best the most. I actually just bought a case (we use them for travel and when we need to used Desitin) of 104 for $18 using the discounts mentioned above plus a 20% off coupon from a magazine. 50% off!

  • BJ's for us also. Luv's are super cheap and we haven't had a leak issue with Luv's. Huggies leaked for us, always. We got a bunch of disposable diapers for my shower so when Luke was little we'd use them sometimes. Huggies leaked everytime. I heard they are better for girls and don't leak. But that was just my experience.
