Hi All,
Time for our bi-weekly check in. I'm going to repost the categories and go over the point system and add the link to the goodreads site to keep track of what everyone is reading. Hopefully, this thread can eventually become a sticky so that others who don't want to participate don't feel the board is over run.
First, the Goodreads group link: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/41934.Ten_Teners_Bookshelf

The points system is self-monitering, with bi-weekly check ins. I personally am using an excel spreadsheet to keep track but the goodreads site is a good tool as well. The results from the vote was for an infinite point system thus multiple books can count per category.
Post what you have read and scores below. Also, if you would recommend the book and why if you wish.
Re: Book Challenge Check In
I started the challenge with The Last Queen - for WHM
2nd book was Sarah's Key: I guess thats a "Whatever I want to read.
The book I'm reading now is:The Hiding Place, murder/mystery, so far so good.
I also set up a goodreads account, so I can easily move over there for this.
Sleeping Beauty's Awakening - Anne Rice (Book about sex) 10
Sleeping Beauty's Punishment - Anne Rice (Whatever you want to read) 5
Total points - 15
Both great, very sexual books. If you like erotic lit, go for it

OK so Im a little bit slow LOL....
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo..10 points....Book title with at least 6 words
It is a great mystery. I havent finished it yet but so far so good!!
Now can I use this again in another category?? Do we have to be finished with the book in order to get the points??lol sorry for being a nudge!!
They're seasonal challenges from what I think we decided. HTH.
And I thought, could be wrong tho, that you were supposed to be done with the book b4 getting points for it.
Should clarify: a book can only count once in a challenge (i.e. you can't count the same book for the bestseller category and the whatever you want category and get double the points), however, you could read a book by Phillipa Gregory and a book by Jane Austen and have double the points in the Women's History category.
Points are for finishing the books, but this early in the challenge it is good to just post what you are reading, which can give others ideas for what to read next. HTH.
I had 40 points last check in for Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts (Getting Married), Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (2010 Bestseller), and Bullet by Laurell K. Hamilton (book about sex).
Since then I have read Death's Mistress by Karen Chance. If you like paranormal fiction this is a great book and I think it falls into the assasination/murder category. Intertwined by Gena Showalter (reader's choice) and Fallen by Lauren Kate (library book). 20 points
Ugh, I've been so busy lately, I can't seem to finish anything. Anyway, I am thisclose to finishing "Leap of Faith: Memoirs of an Unexpected Life" by Queen Noor. It's really fascinating.
I really liked it. Honestly I blew through it in 4 days (quick for me). And honestly I learned something new, seriously was anyone taught about the Vel'd'hiv in school? I never did. So I enjoyed it more just because of the learning experience.
Sorry I am late to check in...
I read "Heart of the matter" by Emily Giffin- 15pts (book about marriage) That week.
I actually just bought the authors newest book. I am hoping it is just as good.
