drink and drive. I was on my way home from an awesome meeting with some volunteers (the ones that make you all warm and fuzzy inside because they are just so awesome and you are so proud of them) tonight and I was in such a good mood. Traffic was nonexistent until I got to the light before my turn off point and I saw a bunch of cars with flashers on and a group of people in the road. There was a guy on the ground and a motorcycle down so I slowed down to make sure everyone was OK. The group of people was freaking out and yelling at the guy and I had to ask 3 times if anyone called 911. Finally someone replied yes and then the guy sprang up and was trying to pick up his bike. He had hit his head and was bleeding (no helmet of course) and slurring and stumbling and telling us he needed to go and not to call the cops. We stalled him just long enough and got traffic redirected until the cops and paramedics arrived. Thank goodness he didn't hit anybody or have a passenger. Of course there went my warm fuzzies and my ability to get a good night of sleep tonight.
Re: Please don't
Exactly. I have a stance that if I have had a drop to drink I will not drive. Not even two tenths of a mile down to the country store by my house.
In Texas (or maybe just South Texas) drinking is a BIG part of life. I am always amazed when we are out at a BBQ and people drive off drunk. And sometimes, I see parents (albeit who are not smashed, but they have still be drinking nonetheless) drive with their kids in the car. OMG, why would anyone do that? I would never, ever risk having Macy in the car with me. No night of fun is worth that risk. I mean, what if something happened?
Baby Macy is here!
