  • yes, what they said! hope the transition goes smoothly for you!!! :)
  • Yes, this is a great thing. It's a huge step for Aaron in terms of moving up with the company so he can end up where he wants to be in the long run. Yes, moving from FL to MN will suck because we have never lived any farther north than OK but it will be a nice change. My biggest thing is having the only family that I can tolerate for more than a couple days at a time there. It will be really nice to have help with the boys.  So here are the details....

Bonus/Promotion- He will only be doing sales now, the part of his job that he loves, and will not be responsible for the account management part of the job which is what stresses him out. So that alone = a happier hubby

    60 days corporate housing

    Home finding trip

Departure home sale assistance- covers realtor fees and closing costs

Household goods move- Pack, crate, load, ship, unload and unpack out stuff

    60 days of storage

    Transportation from here to there

    45 days per Diem

    Relocation allowance- 1 month salary

    COLA increase

The only part that is unclear in the paperwork he got was the company buyout part. He is going to double check before he signs today but from what I understand the company will buy our house at the average of 2 appraisals if we don't sell within 90 days. If we sell on our own we get a bonus...

  • Sounds like a pretty good package!  Hopefully, you can find a house in MN pretty fast!

Word of warning....that packing and unpacking part is not as great as it sounds.  My dad's company moved us a couple times, the last time being from PA to Dallas.  My mom had to watch the packers like a hawk because they would pack stuff like the roll of toilet paper that was hanging on the wall with the bathroom cleaning supplies and towels.  We had our toys for the drive here ontop of our suitcases, and they packed the toys when no one was looking.  (Left the suitcases, though.)  The unpacking was taking the item out of the box and putting in on the floor next to the box.

  • Congrats to your H!! That sounds like a really great package.

Will you be working after the move?

I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible for you!

  • That sounds like a pretty good relocation package! When Disney moved us down, they did the pack, move, and unpack thing for us too. The packers we had were awesome and sooooo fast! They packed everything way better than I would have! They also label and numbered every box and every piece of art, etc. It took them a couple of days before they brought our things to our new house and unpacked for us. Also, your stuff could be on a truck with other peoples things too. The unpacking was them bringing the boxes into our house and putting them in the appropriate room. Just make sure you check each box off the list as they bring it in - we had a mirror left on the truck that none of us realized and they had to make another trip to bring it to us.

That's great that the company will eventually buy your house if you don't sell it!
