Autisim/Vaccination link takes another hit
Oh this guy pisses me off. I hope things like this will make some parents re-consider vaccination (if they were using his "reasearch" as their reasoning for not getting them) but unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

His research was discounted a few years ago and if you go to the AP board there are STILL people who just won't vaccinate.

Doing bad research is one thing but deliberatly falsifying data is another. I knew that the research had been discredited and retracted before, but this seems to take it to a whole other level. I found this part particularly interesting:
Deer said Wakefield "chiseled" the data before him, "falsifying medical histories of children and essentially concocting a picture, which was the picture he was contracted to find by lawyers hoping to sue vaccine manufacturers and to create a vaccine scare."
According to BMJ, Wakefield received more than 435,000 pounds ($674,000) from the lawyers.
No doubt.
So glad he has moved to the US where he has the anti-vacc'er brigade behind him (thank you Jenny McCarthy). Ugh, this makes my blood boil.
