WWYD replacing garage door opener
Our garage door opener has died it's 12 years old (came with the house)
We got a quote from the company that installed it, the gears are stripped. $300 for everything a new unit, two remotes, and a key pad for the outside, and includes labor.
I've looked at HD/Lowes we don't need a whole new chain, remotes etc, and its about $200 or so for the unit. DH and I have no knowledge on how to install them etc, I guess we'd learn:) But would you spend the extra 100 for piece of mind and knowing its done right? DH hates spending money on this stuff, but I know I won't be much help....

The way life should be-
