Kids making themselves throw-up?
Anyone have experience with this? M's new trick is to stick her fingers down her throat to gag herself and if I don't catch her in time she will actually throw up. I talked to the pedi about it on Monday and she said it's totally normal and that I just shouldn't really react to it, just redirect, etc. The problem is, she usually does this when she is going down for a nap and I'm getting really tired of changing clothes & sheets and having her, her room, and myself smell like vomit!!!! If she does it when I'm around (usually when she is in the high chair and I'm cleaning up from the meal) I will just take her hand out of her mouth and give her a book or start singing or something to her so she gets distracted, but I'm at a loss as to how to stop her from doing it in her crib when I'm not there to see it. I'm guessing it's an attention thing, but I'm a SAHM and she is an only child, I don't think it's possible for her to get any more attention from me! any tips??

K did this for 2.5 weeks. The only thing that made him stop? I pulled out my big bad mommy voice. I yelled so loud, "No, Stop" it made him cry.. hell, it made me cry. But it stopped
I'll tolerate most things, and I can attempt to redirect all the live long day.. BUT I'm such a pukephobe, I was NOT having it.
Good Luck. You're a champ for dealing with it as long as you have. I just can't deal with puke well.
