Re: For my big ten ladies

  • Haha, I like this post!  I was tempted to jump on a plane from LA after the Rose Bowl to go to the Sugar Bowl :)

  • The Illini won their bowl game, too. Sure, it wasn't as big of a bowl game, but they did have a winning season this year, which is not something we see too much Smile Hopefully they are better next year because we are talking about buying season tickets. DH has such a love/hate relationship with both Illini football and basketball though that he might change his mind!

P.S. Congratulations on the little one!

Haha, Jules did you go to the Rose Bowl? If so, I am very jealous! I have never been to a bowl game.

I did!  DH works for the company that owns FunJet and they put together packages and because of all the work he did they asked him if he wanted to go as one of the reps.  Of course he said yes and then I got to go with :)  It was pretty awesome.  (well minus the misplaced luggage for a few days)

We flew out to Cali last wednesday and just got back sunday night / monday morning.

I had to laugh at this:

    image

Yes, Wisconsin brought a CHEESE tent to the tailgate party (along with beer and brat tents)!

    image

(This is the drive that WI first scored on - PS the purple that you see in this picture is virtually all of the TCU fans that came, the rest of the bowl was in red!)

    Congrats to TCU!

I loveee the pictures! The first one made me laugh :) It looks like you guys had a fantastic time. Next time take me with you in your luggage! I wouldn't even mind being misplaced for a few days for an experience like this. SO JEALOUS!

  • Jules - The pictures are awesome!! My brother and some other family members got to go to the Rose bowl 3 years ago when the Illini were there. We got slaughtered, but they still enjoyed being there.

Thanks Stick out tongue  Yeah that tent was pretty funny, even more so that it was packed the entire time!  You would have loved the entire experience, I know I did.  The Badgers had a few events for the fans and then there were also a few free days that we explored Hollywood, Universal City, and Chinatown.

The pep rally at the Santa Monica Pier:

Some of DH's coworkers ran into Cheryl Crow at the Bubba Gum on the pier!  We saw John Lithgow at the LAX airport as we were leaving (on 3rd rock from the sun I think and then he was also the reverend on footloose).

Haha, you could have come, the room that they put us in was beyond huge.  We had a 1 bedroom suite and then in the living room there were 2 pull out couches and a murphy bed.

Haha, and the misplaced luggage was sitting in a room full of guests from Korea, it certainly would have been an interesting experience! Stick out tongue

Thanks!  I wish I had brought my DSLR to the game.  Since it's a larger camera it was technically prohibited.  I could have gotten it in though and I saw many others who did!

It's such a fun experience, I am so lucky that we got to take part.  Haha, WI is with IL in the loss category Crying The TCU fans were fun and they played a good game.  I would go again in a heartbeat!
