Hey everyone! I am going to try to read 111 books this year. I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a montly or so book swap?

I have 7 or so books that i have ready to swap! LMK if your interested.

ps if you would like your books back no problem, but if you swap with me just pass the books along to others! Smile

Re: Book Swap

  • I'm definately up for this.  I just got a Kindle for Christmas, but I do have a whole shelf of books that I've read that I would love to pass along.  Let me know if you need help or want me to plan the swap!

  • I'm up for it!  I've got books!  :-)  I just got a Nook as a surprise from DH (early X-Mas gift) in November and I love it.
  • off topic- but those of you who have Nook's how do you like them? i love to read and am typically a fast reader. i normally go through about two novels per week on average. obviously less during the holidays and more during vacation. i think for trips a Nook/Kindle would be nice (i took ten books to jamaica, one electronic would have been easier) but i feel like i will miss the smell of a new book haha.

  • I love my Nook!  I'm a really fast reader too and think I read even more having the Nook.  I love the fact I have a list of books (that I've downloaded) right in the library on my Nook, so I can finish and book and start reading another.  Or if I'm not in the mood for one, I can switch to another.  I love not worrying about returning them or going to the library for a new book when I've read all the ones I have.  I just go online!  :-)

Our local library doesn't have many e-books to check out, but the Free Library of Philly does--best of all, if you have an Access PA library card (I think that's it, it's the one they gave me at the library here in Cumberland County), then membership to the library is free (normally $15 per year) and they have TONS of e-books on their site.

My boss has a Kindle and loves hers, I have my Nook and love mine.  :-)

  • I was the same way before I got my Kindle.  I loved my books but now I find myself hurrying through them so that I get to use the Kindle.  I love the idea of being able to go anywhere and have it right with me and not have to worry about dragging heavy books along.  Although I was always one to judge a book by its cover...this isn't the case anymore with the Kindle!

  • Just a thought - since a lot of us are going to the gtg on the 22nd, for the ones who want to swap books, we could do it there.

  • I love the idea of a book swap.. I also have a Nook; however sometimes I buy a book just because I still love the feel and smell of a real book (I know weird, huh).
  • I would love to do a book swap at the G2G what a great Idea! I have a Ipad that I use to read books on but my preference is a tangible book. And I suck at going to the library and returning the books on time.
