I'm back....again...

Hey all of my lovelies!!! I have missed all of you so! : )

Nothing much has changed for Jeff and I...same jobs...same house...blah.

I know many of our little Knotties are pregnant (and I'm so estatic for all of you)!! But I am wondering if any of our Knotties (well, Nesties now) are TTC, and it isn't happening for you. Jeff and I are on our 6th month of trying, and I am on my 3rd round of clomid. Ugh. I was diagnosed with endometriosis this summer, but had the lap so all of it was cleaned out, and there was none on my overies or tubes. DH just had to send in a sample on Monday, so we are waiting to hear back on that.

I know there is a TTC board where women talk about this, but I just wanted to see if any of my April girls were going through any of this.

  • Welcome back! We miss you!

    Good luck with the TTC!!

  • welcome back!  a friend of mine had a hard time TTC but finally did by using "the sticks."  we are not TRYING per say cuz here is the situation:

DH's sister is getting married in December of this year.  she hasn't asked anyone to be in the wedding yet so it's kinda tricky.  we wanna hop on the TTC boat BUT don't want to say Sorry SIL wont' be there got lil baby or too are prego to go.  so i went off the pill for now to "see what happens" but will be going back on in like 2 months to avoid that december area.  does this make sense?  i don't really know what to do and if we should wait for that reason or not.

either way - not officially ttc yet but starting this summer (if nothing arises before that) for SURE!

  • Yay!  It's nice to hear from you!  So sorry you are having so much trouble TTC. Crossing my fingers for you!

Although we are not TTC yet, I am tempted to go off the pill to "see what happens" because I have PCOS, which may make it harder to get pregnant.  But ideally, we'll get pregnant in 3 - 5 years :P

seriously, why aren't we talking more?? like...for reals. jeff and i are on our sixth month of trying as well - at this time we're not incorporating any external assistance but figured that if in a year we haven't gotten pregnant we're going to consider going to a doctor. there's a lot of praying happening in this house but we're...okay I'M trying to not let it get to me. write me on f/b if you need me girly!

  • I'm glad you're back! I've really missed seeing you on here.

A friend of mine & her husband went through the same thing about 4 or 5 years ago & I'm happy to report that they now have two wonderful boys. It took her about a year to get pregnant the first time and after her 1st pregnancy the endometriosis went away (which I think is common).

We're not trying per sey but aren't doing anything to prevent it either. I think this summer we will really begin to try. I'm not going to get my hopes up though. I'm worried that @ my age (i'll be 35 this summer) that I will have a hard time getting prego.

Good luck & stick around & keep us updated.

    ::HUGS::

  • Jeni! We truely are soul mates! : )

Well, our doctor wanted us to get started on clomid early because they want you to get pregnant between 6 and 9 months after having the lap because the crap starts to grow back. Poo.

I am really anxious about getting Jeff's SA results back (today or tomorrow they thought). I don't know if I want something to be wrong with him (because then I know what to fix and how to get prego), but I don't want him to have to go through anything. He is already very sensative about the whole deal. And, it just gets old when you have to have sex on a schedule. My sister did it with her hubby every day for 2 1/2 months to get pregnant, and said by the end of it she could barely look at him...hahah! : ) I'm trying really hard to be okay with it. This last month was harder because both of my sisters are pregnant and Steph is going to deliver by the 14th if not sooner, so it was our last shot of all three of us being pregnant together. I was just hoping for it. Eh.

  • DANIEEEEEEE!!!  You better be back for GOOD this time....because if not, I'll come down there and kick your a$$!!

Shaun and I haven't started trying yet.  Hopefully, this fall we can get to it.

Sorry you are going through this.  But you have to know that you aren't alone!!  God has a plan and I'm sure he'll see you through this!

  • It is great to see you back here!

    Good luck TTC!

  • Welcome back!  We've missed you around here.

We are trying but not trying very hard.  With me not working, I don't currently have health insurance and pregnancy can be very expensive.  I really hope good things come for us soon.

    Anniversary

  • Hi Dani, welcome back!  I am officially in difficulty conceiving land.  We have been trying since the honeymoon and are on cycle #10.  If you are over 35 it is recommended to see a fertility specialist after 6 months, and since I'm 37 I had my first appointment in October.  Since then, DH and I have both been poked and prodded in places you cannot imagine.  DH and I are also now seeing other specialists for issues that were identified; in a few weeks I have 4 doctor's appointments in one week!

We have another consult with our RE on 1/27 and we'll have an official plan after that, but it's looking like it will be IVF or bust for us.

I can understand the anxiety about DH's tests, I felt the same way. But, you are better off knowing what's going on. I cried my eyes out when we got our diagnosis as to why we're not getting pregnant, but now I'm glad to know the issues and have a plan to get them resolved.

A few things to bear in mind....

    • It can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive and you only have something like a 20% chance of getting pregnant in a given month even if you time things right.  So, just because you're not pregnant yet doesn't mean somethings "wrong".
    • When you hit the year trying mark (I hope you don't), go to a fertility specialist. OBs only do limited testing and treatment.
    • The TTTC board on the Bump is good, although most of the girls there have been trying a long time and may not take you that seriously. Try to find an online community where you're comfortable for support. Having people to discuss this with is a huge help. I have a number of IRL friends suffering from infertility and we are always there for each other.
    • Difficulty conceiving is an awful awful thing that most people don't "get". You'll hear a lot of insensitive comments from people, but they mean well.

Good luck!  Please reach out if you ever want to discuss this, between my experience are what my friends are going through I've learned a lot.

TTC #1 since 4/10, Dx: MFI IVF planned for April/May
  • Welcome back!!

DH and I are currently TTC....but I had been on the depo shot, so I haven't even gotten my period back yet. I skipped the shot I was supposed to get in November and I'm anxiously waiting AF to arrive so we can seriously get down to business! If you haven't, I recommend the TTGP board, I mostly lurk there, but I've gotten a LOT of great info from that board!

  • First, welcome back!!!  We really missed you!  Please stick around!

Second, we are NOT trying to conceive anytime soon (prob will be in another 1-2 years) and actually, we ARE doing everything we can to stop it!!! haha.  We are just so not ready, financially, for a baby, and I would like to find a job where I have less hectic hours before I even think about it.  If I need to be a working mom, I don't want to be working 12 hour days and weekends, like I sometimes do now.  It stinks, but it feels good to get that out there.  I wish I was rich and could just stay home to raise a baby.

Third,  please keep us posted on the TTC project.  We will be thinking of you and interested to hear what's going on!

  • Yay! She's back! Don't leave us again. Mmkay?

Can I just say how I chuckled a little at how many of you gals are trying, but not really trying? I wish you all the best of luck as I will be hopping on the TTC train (hopefully) next month. It seems like an arbitrary time to start, but I'm trying to build up leave from work so I'll actually have 6 weeks and not have to dip into my short term disability or go without pay. I stopped using my Nuvaring in December when I had to take it out for my surgery. Last time I quit it as a trial run I got AF the 2nd month as usual, so hopefully it means that my body bounces back pretty quickly.

My BIL & SIL just announced that they are due again in July (love July babies!) and we think it would be so awesome if we could have kids that are less than a year apart. We'll see how that little "plan" works out. It took the same BIL & SIL 4 years to get pregnant the first time because her cycles were all messed up. Nothing clicked until they started IUI treatments and then it happened the 3rd cycle. She got pregnant this time within 2 months with no outside help. So hopefully all you need is for everything to come together just perfectly and we'll have more April Nestie babies on the way soon!

    Missed seeing you around here!!

  • Yayyyyyy you're back and NO i haven't been gone nearly as long as you, don't abandon us again k?

I'm with Allie on the absolutely definitely NOT trying, so I won't try to identify with the issues you're going through, but it sounds like you have a lot of support in others here and I hope you turn to them and everything works out for you and Jeff (and Jeni and Lori, my thoughts are with both of you too!).

  • Tigger!!!!  Soooo great to see you back (I hope you can stay a while)! :::bounce bounce:::

Well, you know my story, got my BFP just after making an appointment to see an RE (and DH had an appointment for an SA as well), took us 6 cycles, which was faster than we expected.  I was terrified of not getting pregnant due to my "advanced maternal age." And so far my chronic hypertension has not been an issue, but we (my doctors and I) are monitoring it closely so it hopefully will not get out of hand.

All I can say is that 1) Lori's advice is spot on and 2) I think it great you are already taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, and getting as much concrete information as you can.

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys, as always, and I hope to see you post your BFP update soon!

  • DH and I were talking about hopping on the TTC train in a few minutes. But it didn't dawn on me until I read this post that I should probably go ahead and stop taking my BC so that I can get back to a regular cycle.

Does anyone know if being on BC for an extended time can cause problems with TTC? I've been on it for almost 9 years now. I have a friend who was on it for 6 years and she was pregnant within like a month.

  • Great to see you back, stranger! Hope you'll stick around for a while! :)

Sending positive vibes your way for your TTC journey, and here's hoping that DH's test results come back with some good news for you both. We're not trying yet (we will start at the end of this year) so unfortunately I don't have much to offer in terms of advice or experience. But, try and stay positive and keep us posted on how things work out!

Mickylvr1-  Please Please Please learn from me and get health insurance BEFORE you get pregnant!!!  We were inbetween insurances when we got pregnant (thought it'd take a few months for BC to get out of my system) and it has been the biggest headache!  We've been dealing with a lot of stress that could have been avoided and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

  • 1. OMG I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK. Please stay, kthx.

    2. I'm sorry you are having trouble :( I'm obviously of no help but I'll be thinking of you! I wouldn't be too worried right now, you're only at 6 months. Sometimes it just takes longer for some people!

From what I understand if you get pregnant within 3 mos. after going off the BCP your chances of miscarrying is much higher if you able to get prego that quickly. don't qoute me on that  - please double check on line. I'm sure there is plenty of info if you Google it.
