Recipes

I know this has been asked before, but where do you girls get your recipes?  I cut a lot out when I got the Cooking Light magazine in the mail, but I dont get it anymore.  I need quick and easy!  I'm no cook, while also having 2 little ones at home with me.  TIA!

Re: Recipes

  • I have a ton of food blogs tagged in my google reader, so i just go through that list and star ones that I like.  When I want to make <insert food type here> i just do a search of my starred recipes and look for something that looks good!

  • I also love allrecipes.com.  It's my homepage (well one of 5) and I stay logged in.  The recipe of the day changes every night so it's fun to log in and see what today is.  You can also sign up for the recipe of the day email which is different a different recipe than the home page.  They always give me good ideas.   You can also search by ingredients you have on hand and when you like a recipe you can save it in your "recipe box" for easy search later.  The reviewers do a good job letting you know what alterations work the best.

  • I use allrecipes.com as well.

I also get some recipes off of various blogs

  • I have found a ton of great recipes that are very easy on Allrecipes.com.  They also have reviews and tips from people that have made the recipe and that has been really helpful!  I hate cooking!  Especially with two toddlers running around crazy at dinner time!
  • When I just started cooking, I used allrecipes a lot. I loved how I could just punch in random ingredients in the ingredients search and find recipes, or sometimes just verification that things went well together.

Most of the itme now I get inspiration from cooking magazines, food blogs, or cookbooks. Or sometimes I just use google when I have some specific thing in mind I want to make or specific ingredient combinations I want to use. I follow a lot of food blogs so I definitely do what PPs do and search there first.
