Re: Top Baby Names 2010
One of the day care teachers in DS's center named her daughter Neveah. Common names vary a lot between different cultures so I don't go "ick" over names that aren't common amongst my own racial and socioeconomic background. The only time names bug me is when their creative spelling is illogocal and leaves one with the impression that the poor child's parents were illiterate (not that I look down on people who are illiterate, but if you're not I wouldn't think you'd want people to think you were).
I've seen some pretty funky spellings of Jennifer. I just don't get it!
The names we are considering aren't even in the top 80, so I'm excited! I know what it's like going through life with a really common name. I like my name, but sometimes it's annoying to have to differentiate between Jen A, B, C, D, E, etc. There was one night at work when we had 6 Jen's working. Ack!

I think it bugs me most when a commonly known name is spelled some ridiculous way. That's not coming up with an unusual name, that's just creating a burden for your child.
Navaeh irks me a bit. What I always found amusing is that the people I've known who went with that name seemed surprised that other people knew that it spelled "Heaven" backwards, as it were some big secret that no one else in the world but them was aware of.
JEN- I've can't wait to hear what name you come up with! You're not willing to share contenders, are you?
Ok, I'll share with you guys, but don't put anything on FB!
We haven't even begun to think about middle names, but here are some of our first name choices.
Noelle
Eva
Kate (H loves this name, but I just don't feel it's her name, kwim?)
Zoe
Lena
Keira
Elizabeth
Gabrielle
I realized that too, while reading this post, oops. Although I'll admit I didn't even know it was "heaven" spelled backwards until now! Never thought about it.
Ooooh, I really love Noelle, Keira and Gabrielle. So pretty
I absolutely love the name Emma! But because my name is Jennifer, I am steering away from it.
Our last name is kinda blah, plus it would sound weird with Emma too, I think!
