Anyone know if BCBS covers freezing eggs?
Or freezing embryos? I have a friend who's about to undergo chemo for breast cancer.

It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

Even though RI is one of only a handful of states that mandate infertility coverage, some employers have loopholes for certain things. If I were your friend I'd talk with the IVF financial coordinator @ her RE's office; they usually sit down with you (lots of paperwork!) anyways but she may need to specifically ask.
Also, not all BCBS's are created equal. We have BCBS Healthmate Coast to Coast through DH's work. 80% of our IVF will be covered (meds, monitoring, egg retrieval & embryo transfer) but it won't cover freezing embryos so we'll be OOP for that. And of course, how much freezing costs also varies from place to place; I've heard everything from $200-$1k per year on the IF board here from women across the country.
