First Group America - interview tomorrow

I have an interview tomorrow with First Group America.  Does anyone work for them?  An old co-worker went there after working at my company now and seems to like it a lot.  I had never heard of them until he started working there.  I haven't interviewed in 7 years and I am so nervous.  What do you wear to an interview?  I'm thinking black pants, sweater/blouse and heels.

  • Good luck!  I think ur choice of outfit sounds great!

  • I guess it may depend on what field you work in, but I always wear a black suit with a white blouse, pearls and plain black heels to an interview.  I always err on the side of dressing too professionally.

Never heard of the company, so sorry, no insight there.  Good luck!

  • I haven't heard of them either. You know your stuff and you have 7 more years of professional experience than you had last time you interviewed so you've got that going for you!

I would also wear something more suit-like.  Black or navy - especially since it's a bank.

    Good luck!

  • It isn't a bank.  They manage Greyhound and a few other transportation companies.  After talking to my co-worker I have decided a suit is probably more appropriate.

Ooops!  My bad.  That's what I get for assuming. I hope it goes well and that you feel really good about it no matter the outcome.

  • Good luck! I haven't heard of them but I agree that a suit is always a great choice. I always wear my power pumps too for job interviews.

  • Good luck tomorrow! You can never go wrong with a suit!

  • Good Luck! A friend of mine works there and loves it, (I think)
  • Generally in my field (engineering so traditional and a bit conservative) women wear suits (pant or knee length dress suit).  The preferred colors are black followed by navy and then charcoal grey - dark colors are supposed to denote dominance/confidence or something if I remember correctly from my Professional Image class lol :).  Keep jewelry simple and to a minimum.  Pull your hair back away from your face.  Wear heels but make sure they are closed toe, not slingback, and have a low (1-1 1/2" heel).

Good luck and don't forget to ask when you can expect to hear back then send a thank you letter/email expressing your gratitude for consideration as well as reiterating why you'd be right for the role!
