pet "accidents"
so i think my dog has it out for me. She has atleast one accident a day and it makeing my very small one bedroom apt smell like...well...pee. Not to mention that its starting to leave A LOT of stains on my carpet. It looks & smells horrible.
i have tried several cleaners but none really seem to do the trick. some make the stain disappear but the smell is still there.!
Any suggestion on how to get rid of these stains...and more importantly the smell...any cleaners you recommend (PS we have been renting a carpet cleaner every 4 or 5 months or so..but thats starting to get expensive... and we dont have the money to go out and but a good one of out own.)

Re: pet "accidents"
We have a little green it is about $100 and it is compact. great for small places. We pull it out as soon as we see the accident. So we don't usually have a problem with the smell staying around.
Our friend also has the pet problem. She has a spot bot i believe. near the same price. also small- she uses a soap specifically for pet accidents. not sure what exactly it is though. but they are gone 10-12 hours a day so sometimes morning accidents are there for a while.
hope this helps.
Spot Bot is our best friend around here. Between pets and DH, who never seems to notice that he walked right through mud before coming in the door (
) that thing gets a lot of use. Over a year in our new home with light carpet and not a spot in sight.
For pet or other bodily fluid stains make sure you use an enzyme cleaner (check in the pet section or carpet cleaner section) - the enzymes eat up the biological material so it gets all the smell out. This is especially important with pet bathroom issues as the smell in the carpet attracts them back to those areas.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over!
Have you tried an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle? Make sure it soaks all the way through to the carpet pad.
Also, have you taken her to the vet to rule out any medical issues causing the accidents? I have cats, not dogs, but one accident a day is concerning to me.
i dont know. shes alway hated being outside since she was a puppy. she goes out. does her business and the wants to come in. but it got worse a few months ago when she got out of our apartment while we were bringing in laundry and got in a fight with a stray pit bull that was out there. (poor baby nearly got her leg bitten off)
she wont play with a ball (she's a lazy lazy dog) and i try to take her for a walk as often as i can. i guess ill take partial blame cause i dont bring her for a walk as often as a should. i should prob. work on that.
Hi there,
Gosh the poor thing has had some trauma. Has the Vet suggested medication to help with her anxiety? Maybe Prozac would help. I have one of my cats on it (for undesirable peeing issues).
I agree you should have Nature's Mirical on hand. I saw this advertised. I don't know anyone who has this for their dogs, but you may want to do some research.

I hope this helps!
Good luck!
I think you're getting to the root of the problem here. She had a very negative experience outdoors, so you're going to have to spend time teaching her to associate being outside with good things. I agree with Crash's advice about bringing treats and doing other things to reward her while your outside. Also, make sure in the future you are protecting her from harm.
You should consider working with a behaviorist, because between her fear of being outside, her darting off (shows lack of boundaries), and her bad experience with another dog, not to mention the accidents, there are some hurdles to overcome. I know you said she's lazy, but dogs need structure and a certain amount of activity to build their confidence.
I agree with enzyme cleaners. If it's white carpet, you can also try hydrogen peroxide, which is about as cheap a cleaner as you can get.
