And I KNEW it when the phone didn't get answered.
I cried.
i knew they were counting down to something, i just hoped it would be good news
when lily was getting out of the cab, i knew something bad happened. so sad!
Poor Marshall. I loved the relationship between Marshall and his dad.
The last doppleganger was a nice twist on an emotional issue! It would've been nice if there actually was a problem with either of them, in my opinion. But I'm obviously biased.
I would assume they'll be pregnant within a few episodes now.
We were dying laughing at the "collection room." Rob was always totally skeeved by everyone knowing what he was doing in there, and having some dude waiting for him to finish for his turn. But even funnier was real life - at the IVF facility, there were several signs about how they were no longer replacing the...uh...materials, so if people kept stealing them it was only punishing themselves. Dude, how hard up for porn are you that you steal from the fertility clinic?! Grow a pair and go to Amazing Video, or use the internet like every other guy in the world.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

Agree about the whole him not answering the phone and immediately knowing something was wrong. My stomach just dropped.
I def agree about the fine line between funny shows going serious. I am very interested in where they are going to go with this. I'm really hoping we get good news soon like they are pregnant!
Another random thought about this show ... do you think we have met the mother yet? If so, who? Do you think if we haven't we will soon? The characters are starting to get older and I'm wondering how much longer then will wait to get to the "how I met your mother" part? Once he finally does, it kind of is the end of the show? Or is it?

I completly agree that the collection room was hysterical!! I could imagine it would be really hard in real life to do that with all that pressure.

I LOVED that episode. I love this show in general. Brilliantly written and BRILLIANTLY acted. Did anyone else not really like Ted at first, but now love him? I think his character has been hysterical this season. The episode where he went to the museum and was picking on the blonde (can't remember her name)...OMG, he was killing me. Poop!!
As much as this is a sitcom, it's addressing a real life issue and I think they did it perfectly. It's not like the whole episode focused on it, they waited until the very end and left you with it. I'm sure by the end of the season they're going to be pregnant.
As for whether or not he's met their mother. Dan and I speculate on this every week. Dan speculated that maybe he's not talking to his kids. Maybe he's talking to his neice and nephew...and that every time he refers to "Aunt Robin" he's actually talking about his wife?? I don't think so though. Are we certain that the new blonde is ruled out as a possibility?
didnt he date his wife's roommate? remember they showed her leg when she was getting out of the shower??

This past year was the first time I started watching HIMYM ... I have watched many of the old episodes but really need to rent the first couple of seasons. So many of these little details like that he met his wife in his classroom I didn't know.
Wait ... isn't he done teaching now and back to being an architect! Doesn't that mean he already met his wife?
And, can someone explain to me why Ted's grown up voice is Bob Saget? Never understood that one
