H had another ?blow up? again. This time when he said he was sorry for taking it out on me he said he has been worrying about things, having bad dreams, and crying at night. He said he had tried to find a therapist but they are too expensive since we don?t have health insurance. I?m really not sure if he is telling the truth, or just making an excuse for how he acts. But, I am bound and determined to find an affordable therapist for him to go see even if it is just for one session . . . if he actually goes of course.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or know what kind of price range this stuff would be?
Re: Therapist anyone?
I don't have any specific recommendations, but I was googling therapists in New Tampa a couple of months ago (I was having nightmares I couldn't shake after finding MIL dead) and I noticed that there were a number of therapist that specifically stated they don't accept insurance which allows them to have a lower rate. I feel like when I saw that they were around $85-$95/hour, but I could be wrong about that because I was looking for therapists that accepted my health insurance. My only suggestion would be googling.
Best of luck to you guys. I think this is a good step, whether your husband really meant it or not.
Sending you lots of T&P's!

Sorry to hear about your H's blow up but I'm glad he is open to getting some help.
You may want to try Northside Mental Health Center in Tampa. I have a friend who used to work there as a therapist.
Here's their website:
http://www.northsidemhc.org/
They are a non-profit so I'm sure if you ask about sliding scale fee they should help you. If not, you can always ask them for a referral to someplace that can help.
Or you can call 211 helpline and explain to them what you are looking for and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
I think some Counselors may use a sliding scale depending on income. What about a church? I don't know if you go to church, or maybe some family members that go to church. Sometimes the Pastors are counselors, and offer marital counseling. I know the Pastor @ my church in Clermont is a counselor, and my sister and XBIL saw counselors @ another church.
