organizing a chest freezer
We have a 5cu.ft chest freezer & I need help organizing it! Should I get some of those wire shelves (that are meant to hold dishes in a cabinet)?
So tired of putting gloves on & shifting stuff around to get to the bottom of it....
Re: organizing a chest freezer
I have the same size chest freezer. I bought a bunch of those reusable grocery bags from my grocery store (they sell them for $.99 each) and I store the meat in them... ground venison in one bag, steaks in another, chicken in another, etc.
This way I can just pull the bags out to get to what I need and everything is sorted and organized. I've done the freezer dive more times than I care to count just to find the roast I wanted on the very bottom.

We're starting our dog on a raw diet so we'll need human food section & dog food section (I am so not eating heart/liver/etc)
I just bought 6 of the reusable bags & it worked perfectly!
Whole chickens line the bottom of the freezer & 6 bags of meat fit on top
Thanks so much for this idea, it will make things a lot easier now!

I just cleaned out my three freezers (we have two fridge/freezers and a chest freezer).
That's a REALLY good idea.
