When I got my promotion in August that meant that the person above me here was let go. That person is also my tenant in the condo.
So for 5 long months we've had no rental income. I didn't want to put pressure on him because I took his job and we've been friends for over ten years.
Well he started a job in December and swung by today to pay for January! Woo Hoo! I don't even care if he doesn't pay for the back months, I'm just glad I can plan on it going forward.

Thanks guys. I know that if ever he's in the position to help us in a time of need he would step up too. He's not just a friend, we've worked at three jobs together, we were at each other's weddings etc. For a time he was like the brother I never had (not so much now because I can't stand his girlfriend), but that's a whole different story!
The money is coming at a good time - we can show a big loss on our tax return on the condo (thus reducing our income) for 2010 and now we can just put that money towards the front porch since we've gotten so used to living without it!
