would you call Dr.

I often (every two-three months) will get a swollen sore lympn node under my arm or behind my ear. One surfaced the other day and this time it is swollen, sore and also red.

I think these are just signs that our bodies are fighting off something, right? So I have basically always let them die down. But Ryan thinks I should go get it checked out, wwyd?

Re: would you call Dr.

  • You can always call the nurse at your doctors, a lot of times they'll tell you whether or not you should come in.

  • I don't know, I've never had that happen besides having a little swelling in my neck.  I think I'd want to get it checked out if it's red.

  • If you question it, get it chekced out. It'd make you both feel better, right?

  • When in doubt, I always check on mayoclinic.com for "when to see the doctor":

Based on the redness, I'd probably go just in case.

  • Redness isn't good, but if there are red streaks = infection. I'd go just in case. Your body has gone through a lot and it's better to get on top of things sooner then later.
  • Once when I tried to convince myself to wait and see....my dad reminded me that I have insurance for a reason.  He said "Wouldn't you rather use your INS and find out it's no big deal rather than wait and find out later that it is a big deal?"  I thought that was pretty good advice

  • Yes, I would go to a DR. It's probably nothing, but you never know. Just go for the peace of mind if anything. :)
  • I would definitely go to a doctor. Everyone's body reacts differently to infection, but if you can feel your lymph nodes under your arms and it's painful and red-- then that's a pretty decent sign that your body is doing something on a decently-sized scale.

Can't hurt to get it checked out...
