Eat.Pray.Love movie

I watched this last night and liked it.  It wasn't spot on in terms of the book, but the gist of the story was there, and the soundtrack was awesome.

I love Julia Roberts- so that made it even better.

I recommend it.

Who's seen it? Thoughts?

Re: Eat.Pray.Love movie

  • I haven't read the book... but I saw it recently and thought it was really good-- a good movie to motivate someone to make positive changes in their lives. I love Julia Roberts too.... and Javier Bardem was yummy and I totally fell in love with his character and how loving/ attentive/ emotional he was.
  • I haven't read it or seen it, but someone gave a bad review of the book that really turned me off. She said it was more about a girl who was acting super entitled and selfish as she traveled the world. I may have to give it a second look now!

  • We watched this NYE and I was all excited about seeing it but didn't care for it. I didn't dislike it, but it was just "meh."

This is a little how I felt about the book.  I probably won't see the movie, just because I can't imagine making a movie out of the content in that book.  And unlike Kristy, I am not a Julia Roberts fan, so that piece holds no appeal for me.

I agree with these ladies. I thought the movie was okay, but in the end she was just a self absorbed woman with some good men in her life and she was too wrapped up in finding herself to give anything back to them. Julia Roberts is good and she saved the movie, so I would watch it again, but the story line was dissapointing. I liked it better when it was called Under the Tuscan Sun. That's a good one.
