Yay! Appropriate Attire! (PIP)

So... this was my trip to court this morning...

And this is what I came home to after work tonight...

Two years ago, I had snow boots.  They were black, with rubbery/plasticky outers, thick rubber soles, and faux fur lining.  They were serviceable for about ten years.  Two years ago, after putting in more than enouh time, they crapped out on me.  The rubbery/plasticky stuff apparently dried out and got all cracked... so not weatherproof and therefore useless.

I was left with my Timberland hiking boots... not bad, but at ankle high, not exactly deep snow material either, though at least waterproof.

Last year we didn't have really bad or deep snow, so I didn't bother to replace the snow boots, and survived with the Timberlands.

Well, today I had court.  I wore a brown skirt suit.  And those Timberlands really can't go with a skirt suit.  Or a pant suit, for that matter.  So I wore these...

A fab Nordstrom purchase by me, but definitely not snow-worthy, with a very thin lining, non-waterproof stitching, and slippery smooth soles.

So... a-shopping I went, and though DSW's winter boot section looked pretty ravaged by the time I got there tonight, I found these warm, fuzzy, and weatherproofed wonders...

They're cute and totally snow-propriate!

Still not optimal with a suit, but not quite as crazy bad as the Timberlands would be.  I feel like they're cute enough that I could get away with them on a really snowy day, when anyone looking could understand the necessity and not be freaked out by the clash of style.

Now I get to go test them out and shovel...
