Random question for cat people
What are your/your cat's favorite cat treats? Preferably something in the "healthy/all natural" category. TIA.
Re: Random question for cat people
Ewok likes chicken-anything. she also likes shrimp on occasion.
Jandals likes fish, dairy and bacon. oh, and poptart crusts.
I read somewhere that cats moreso like the texture as opposed to the tastes of treats - and for a while it seemed like J didn't like soft treats. Now they seem to both only like moist, soft treats. I don't really do "cat treats" regularly though. I do buy the pouce hairball remedey treats and J is totally obsessed with them. i can't even leave the closed can out on the counter.
I've seen those dried meat (chicken, fish) treats and I would try those out for an "organic" experience.
We bought the Natural Temptations, and Roxy likes them fine. She also likes the Whisker Lickins my mom bought. She's 10 weeks, so not really discriminating about treats.
She did play with them first though.
I haven't tried any commercially prepared natural treats but they looooove the juice from tuna cans. One cat loves to lick yogurt containers clean.
Other than that, Pounce must be really tasty to cats. It's one of the last things I could get my sick cat to eat, even when she shunned tuna.?
One of my cats likes greenies. The other, not so much. what they both go BANANAS for are dried anchovies. You can find them in Asian markets or in the Asian section of some large grocery stores. I bought a big old bag of them at an Asian grocery in San Francisco for a few bucks.
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
My cats have never liked cat treats. They want stuff like potato chips and Ritz crackers.
Wildside Salmon. Its like crack.
ooh epphd, that's a great idea! I go to the Asian stores I'll the time, I'll look for some!
One cat will only snack on Cat nip, dried or fresh.
The other one is more adveturous. Ziwi Peak treats are a favorite... and of course I am blanking on others. We also sometimes give them a smidge of tuna/tuna juice and let them lick ice cream bowls (I KNOW.) because they beg to so much.
