What are you reading?

I'm currently reading:

So Cold the River by Michael Koryta

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm 50% through, and it's holding my attention (barely, but it is), but it's a real slowwwww build. Hopefully it picks up in the second half.

I'm sure I'll finish it on the plane tomorrow.

Re: What are you reading?

  • I'm reading a novel really written for kids, called The Magic Warble. I won it, fully intending to make ot part of my nephew's library for when he's a little older, but it's pretty poorly written. Plus, Catimus has eaten one corner. I still feel compelled to finish it. Then I'll pass it to a friend who was interested. After that she can do what she wishes with it... pass it along, donate it, or chuck it.
  • DH got me Uncharitable by Dan Pallotta. I'm about 30 pages in. It's about how society puts restraints on charities by labeling them nonprofits and therefore excluding them from the world of capitalism. I'm not sure yet.

  • I just started Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.  I'm about 30 pages in, and I like it so far, but I also know that I like his historical fiction books anyway, so I'm biased.

Before that I was finishing the Hunger Games trilogy.  I was not a big fan of the third book.

    Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Greatest book I've read in the past few years.

I heard today that the Portia DeRossi book is really good.

  • I just finished reading this book called The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters. It was pretty good. Now, I'm re-reading Harry Potter 7 until I can get to the library and check out a couple of books.

    Loved Hunger Games!!!

I'm reading Almost Noon by Alice Sebold. I just started it, so I don't know how good it is yet.

  • I just started The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent. I'm only a few chapters in but I like it so far. We're discussing it at book club this Tuesday though, and I don't think I'll be done with it.

I'm also deeply entrenched in the Baby Bargains book.

  • I'm between books but my next one is Brother Odd by Dean Koontz. I just finished The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde, which was fun, and actually kind of exciting, but quite silly.

  • I just finished reading The Year She Fell by Alicia Rasley. It was a really good book. It was a different kind of read for me, but I really liked it. I think I'm going to read Traitor's Wife next. I forget who it's by.
