I'm a tad early but otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this until after work tomorrow -- so here is my house! Well, I guess it is "our" house now, but I bought it myself 7 years ago so it will always feel like it is 'mine.' (And my name is the only one on the deed!)
Here's my little house!
The plants are much more mature now - this photo is old!
My backyard - the Cumberland River runs behind my property. This was in early spring, so the trees were still naked!
My deck (it is stained a deep red color now). I know the fence is ugly, but i had to have it for my doggies!
Master bedroom. We have a king size bed now, but that is the only real change.
I somehow don't have a photo of the master bathroom. It has a toilet and a sink and a tub..... not that exciting. ![]()
Here is the main upstairs guest room:
The other upstairs bedroom is an office. I don't have a photo of it, either, and it is NOT in a condition to be photographed right now. It is a light blue green color and has two lovely windows.
Here is the upstairs guest bathroom:
Kitchen (I put in new countertops, new appliances, and painted the cabinets and walls when I bought the house. The kitchen before was UGLY!)
If I turned around in the spot where I took the above kitchen picture, I would be looking at this picture. Hubby's phish tank is now against that far wall (I gave that cabinet to my mom) and we have a smaller breakfast table in here now.
Beautiful new living room! I painted it while I was unemployed. I now have fabulous new lamps (wedding gifts) but they are not in this photo yet...
If I rotate to my left in this same spot, I would see this:
The opposite of this wall is this:
That is the hallway down to the three upstairs bedrooms and the dining room
The dining room with my NEW french doors!! LOVE THEM!!!
I just took this with poor lighting at night - the walls are a sand color and the accent wall is the same blue as the living room only two shades darker.
DOWNSTAIRS - finished basement.
Hubby's "man room" - yes, it is a mess!! On the opposite side that you cannot see in this photo is the ping-pong table. It is currently covered in christmas boxes, so I did not photograph it.
downstairs 3/4 bath - I had this put in a few years ago.
Downstairs guest bedroom (the largest of them all, and it has a large walkin closet.) Right now we also have the air hockey table in this room.
...and yeah. Those are my digs! ![]()

I love your living room, I love your kitchen, I love your basement, I love your big backyard!
When can I move in?
Hehehehe Thanks! I used to have a roomie that rented the downstairs, but I don't think hubby would give up his man room now! Plus his GIANT TV and HUGE sofa won't fit in the upstairs living room!

BEAUTIFUL Gretchen! I have a few good friends in Hendersonville... man do I love that area, and you're backyard just reminded me of that
You do great work!!
All of this!!
SIL just closed on a house, right before Christmas. So we checked it out while we were in So. Maine. She's painting, and putting in new carpeting. I'm unbelievably jealous. I tried to talk Ross into buying when we first moved to Maine, but he didn't want to. Maybe three years later (having brought it up several times), FIL mentioned it would probably be a good idea. SUDDENLY it was an awesome idea. Butthole. Now it's "too late," and he doesn't think we'll be in the area long enough to get our money back. Blahhhh. I want a house and I want babies.

Gretchen, what a gorgeous house!! Definitely something to be proud of.
I really love the contrast of the green and black in the kitchen and also like (I think Kenna said) all of the rugs!
So cute!

Your home is so beautiful! I love love love your kitchen! And I think my sister used to have the rug in your living room, which I always liked too
Oh - and the French doors you put in look wonderful!
Now I'm kinda jealous! Can you come do some work on our house???
Megan & Chris
Your house is gorge, dahling! I am in absolute awe of your kitchen...mine's only slightly smaller than a postage stamp, and our cabinets won't even stay closed in the winter time. If it weren't a rental, I'd just take the freaking doors off.
I also love the blue and green colors...they're so pleasant and relaxing to look at! You did a great job putting together a perfectly lovely home.
I love love love the rug in your living room.
My favorite thing is that cute window in your bathroom though. I adore interesting shaped windows!
Missing our little turkey.

What a great house! I love the ones that trick ya like they look one level in the front and then bam! a whole other half a house in the back. It's so pretty with the vibrant colors. I had to convince Mike to let me paint in yellow, orange, green, blues too! He was absolutely a plain white wall kinda guy, but I've changed that! haha
I love how it's decorated, you absolutely should be proud! Great house!
...this makes me want to share my spot as well.
All of this, and I like the bathroom window! Thanks for sharing (and good job of explaining the angles so we could get a better idea from the photos)!
YAY! I'm so glad you all like it! I've had some people tell me I have too many colors... but I think they all go well together. they didn't start out all blues and greens but they've mostly ended up that way! ...and the main room downstairs is a pale yellow and the bedroom is a brighter yellow. It needed light, bright colors - it's a basement.
We have BBQs on our deck every weekend in the warm months..... feel free to come over any time you want!
We are working in screening in the top part that is covered - we got new patio furniture for it for the wedding and we just put up the ceiling with dimmable pot lights and built in speakers. hubby even put in an ipod connector to the stereo! When it gets warm again I'm going to work on getting the screens in. Then we just have to figure out how to put in a doggie door for the boys and it will be done. Then I will take naps out there!!! (I am really allergic to mosquitoes but once it is screened in it will be paradise!)
