Hi Girls! I got on the December Wedding board a few times on The Knot, but I ended up being so busy by that time planning the wedding (I did it alone), that I couldn't check in too often. Anyway I'm starting this Wife thing and I'm hoping The Nest could help me out a little. My Mom passed away when I was in college, and MIL lives in PA so I'm seeking some virtual guidance! ![]()
I'm Melissa, I'm married to Ned and we live in VA with our Lab Tucker. Even though we've been married for less than a month, I absolutely love being a Wife! I stopped taking birth control after the wedding, because I want having a family to be natural and surprising. We want kids sooo bad. I know a lot of recently married couples are waiting a few years, but as stupid as it sounds I almost feel like I was made to be a wife and mother. I suppose its my biological clock, or my baby fever, or maternal instinct. Who knows?
Well, I hope to take a little something positive from other people on the board and give a little something, too. So, how about you guys? Are you planning families, or are we spending some time just being Married first?
P.S. Forgive me if I'm late on any one of these topics.

December 2010 Siggy Challange 11/15-11/21: engagement ring.
Hey, welcome
I live in another country from my mom, so I know it's nice to have another place to go for support sometimes.
H and I are planning on waiting about 5 years before TTC (although I'm not on BC, and if it happens before then, that's okay too) because we're young (23 and 24), want to travel, and buy a house before bringing kids into the mix
Welcome! It's always good to have other input and opinion around the place
We're not looking at trying to start a family just yet, but it's probably on the cards for within the next couple of years.
Good luck with your plans!
Where we met - Mount Isa
a small mining town in the Australian Outback. Neither of us are from there but we both moved there in the second last year of highschool. He was moved next to me in maths class to stop him talking. It didn't work.
Congrats & Welcome!!
I do hope you and your hubby have the best of luck with an easy conception - I don't wish the financial and emotional toll of fertiliy issues on anyone!!
