I'm a homeowner! I know I already said this on FB (and thanks for your congratulations), but I had to share here too.
And abvernon, I hereby pass my house-hunting kharma to you. We've been so incredibly lucky and blessed to have such an easy process. (I mean seriously, no counter to our offer, nothing major in the inspection and closing a week early? That just doesn't normally happen. I even got carded on the day we closed, woot.) Whether you choose to use it now or later, you deserve it. 
Anyway, look at my cute house!

OK, what do you DO with those three shelves? I'm stumped.
And Lucky, yeah, it's crazy white, huh? Good thing my apartment kitchen is full of color.
I would put cookbooks or teapots on those shelves. something you use that's also pretty to look at.

Tea Time for Lulu
That is what we did before the girls were mobile. Now they are pretty empty, expect when random toys and food make their way there from the girls.
I had a very pretty china bowl (with lots of bright color) that I put there and filled with flowers or other decorations that caught my fancy (it was a low bowl so it fit in the space), & all my 'pretty' cookbooks with come cute colorful bookends.
