Ugh! My poor brother!

Okay, so I vented about my SIL earlier today, but today I feel sorry for her and my brother.  Brother just found out that come March 31, he's officially losing his job.  He got his termination papers this afternoon.  He got the head's up before Christmas, but it was confirmed today.

To top it off, SIL has breast cancer.  After much trouble (3 surgeries following her double mastectomy), she finally starts her chemo in 2 weeks.  I just can't believe how much stress the two of them are under at this point.  My heart is breaking for them and the kids.

Any T&P would be helpful!

  • That sucks. When it rains it monsoons, not pours.:(

    Sorry for your troubles.

The more networking your bro does, the better off he will be. Most jobs are filled from the inside.

That's what everybody keeps telling him.  He has friends and family all over the country and the world, so hopefully something will click.  The thing is, it's not just him.  His whole department is being let go because the company is downsizing.

  • Shhould they lose insurance coverage, there is a medicaid program specifically for women with breast or ovarian cancer. If they end up needing it she should check with the local health depatment.

I didn't know that, and I'm not sure if they do.  Thank you for the information!  I'll pass it on.

  • Many thoughts and prayers headed in their direction! Cancer is trying enough. I couldn't imagine adding unemployment to it. Sad
