So, yesterday I was cramping a bit. Stayed off my feet as best as Chase would allow. I have been trying to get my progesterone rx filled since Monday, and the insurance company has been giving me the run around. My dr and I have been submitting/resubmitting prior authorization forms over and over all week, but they keep sending them back for this reason and that. Yesterday, thought we had it but it went back because they wanted MORE info as to why it is a medically necessary rx. It would have been easier to buy crack. The last lady I spoke to told me since I was bleeding and cramping, if I were to go to the ER, and if the ER were to write an rx because it were medically necessary, etc, then there would be an automatic override and I could fill it. Last night I woke up abt 3amish with more cramping and a little more bleeding. Left Drew at home with Hunter and Bug and drove 2 hrs to my peri's hospital. They put me thru the wringer.... but, baby is still ok and my cervix is closed tight, so I still have a shot. 8 hrs later they wrote an rx for prog and discharged me.
Went to the pharmacy, but ins still would not fill it. I paid for 5 days worth and went to my truck and called back one final time. I pitched a fit, and the guy asked me to go back inside to the pharmacist where he proceeded to authorize my rx. I even got a refund for the 5 days worth I had already purchased. Thank the Lord! Maybe now I can re-find the confidence I had a week ago with this pregnancy since I have on board what I need. The only problem, this rx is peanut based and I have an allergy to peanuts... lolol. What can I do. Hopefully I don't die!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I need every one of them. ![]()
Re: update
I was so glad to hear that the tiny bug was ok. I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this crap to literally save your child's life. I think it's totally ridculous. It's also a shame that you have to go to the ER and use their valuable resources to get a Rx that a dr could call in over the phone. UGH!
Anyway, Let's hope you don't have any peanut side effects and that all continues to go well.
Thinking about you and baby.
Oh, this infuriates me!!! It absolutely pisses me off to know that insurance will cover birth control and things to prevent pregnancy (including abortion, in some cases), but it often won't cover meds to help a woman get or stay pregnant. I'm so glad you were finally able to get it covered!
So....what are we calling this little one, since "Bug" is already taken?
