Which Dyson?

I am looking into buying a Dyson vacuum and there are several out there.  We don't have pets, so I probably would stear away from the animal ones.  Does anyone have one and would you recommend it?  Please specify model number...ex. DC24,DC25, DC33, DC34 etc...

Anyone can be cool, but awesome takes practice!

Re: Which Dyson?

  • We just bought the DC21 and love it, I would recommend a canister one if you have stairs and do lots of cleaning, its easier to use IMO

  • We have the Dyson animal (purple top/canister)..  My DH was set on getting a Dyson and I didn't much care. ;)  We have a dog who sheds more than 10 dogs combined and quite honestly, I thought it would be better with the removal/picking up of the dog fur.   I guess I've been a bit disappointed with its performance overall....who knows, maybe we have a dud ;).

  • We have the original (I think it's the DC07?) and I would recommend it. I know they have lots of newer models that are a lot fancier, so maybe someone else can comment on that. We've had ours for over 3 years and never had a problem with it; it seems to work as well as it did the day we got it.?

  • Just bought a Shark vacuum (not a steam mop, an actual vacuum).  I read countless reviews about how it beats Dyson vacuums in various different tests.  My MIL loves her Dyson, but she can't believe what a great vacuum my new Shark is-- esp. considering it's less than half the price of Dysons!  I found it at Bed Bath and Beyond for $180, and *of course* had a 20% off coupon.  My advice: check out the Shark before you drop $500 on a Dyson.
