i miss my dress!

How crazy is that? I wanted to put it on over the holidays, but forgot about it when I had the time.   Last year at this time I hadn't even gone to look for dresses yet (got engaged dec 09).   And now it's just all lonely, hanging on the back door of my mom's attic (really a spare room that just has a ton of boxes in it,  one niece dubbed it the attic when she was 3).

Re: i miss my dress!

  • Me too!!  I actually have it hanging in our spare room (future nursery) and never brought it to the cleaners because I kept meaning to try it on again.  Now that I'm very pregnant, I'm sad because I can't put it on!

  • I still need to figure out what to do with my dress! There is someone local that makes wedding keepsake boxes out of the dress. I think I may do that!
  • I loved my dress, but I don't really miss it.  I keep wondering if I should have looked further and chosen a different one....I was determined to only go shopping once and keep the cost way down.  I guess I just wonder if I settled?

IDK...I do miss my flowers and cake though.  I loved those!

  • I almost bought a dress I just liked... and then OSU had that snowday last feb... and I found a dress I loved on the knot. I called around and found it at the bridal shop right by Trader Joe's on Sawmill, tried it on a couple days later, then ended up buying it at a shop near my parents house a week or two later (west side of Cleveland).

I took care of the cake part over the holidays... we ordered a small cake from our bakery (also near my parents house,  two doors down from the dress shop :) ). We only had one piece after the wedding... so it was great to have it again. My husband wants to do this EVERY time we go to Cleveland.   I think it's only going to happen once a year!

  • Mine is at the cleaners getting cleaned and preserved.  It was on my bed at my mom's house until last week!!
  • So sometime there is a delay when I start writing a post, the computer freezes for a few seconds and I usually have to write the post again.  But that post above it stayed so the text is a different size...I couldn't figure out how to change it.  I deleted that part and rewrote it and it still typed that way.
  • I kind of miss mine too.  I want to put it back on, but it's cleaned and in a box in my old room at my parent's house.  We really don't have room for it in our apartment, so I don't think I will be back in it for quite a while.

  • Me too. I know I wouldn't fit in it, lol. I barely fit in in on the wedding day and I've probably gained 10 pounds since.

I finally had it cleaned and now it's folded and packaged up in what was originally a comforter package sitting in my room. Sad.
