My mother passed away very suddenly right after midnight this morning. The ER called me yesterday afternoon, and I rushed into the city. She suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage and was gone in a matter of hours.
Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are all in shock right now.

Oh my goodness, I am so so so so very sorry; I cannot even imagine what that would be like and I barely have an idea of what to say - I wish I could give you a giant hug and be there to listen to you. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers I hope you are able to find some peace and comfort.

Aww Girls... thank you so much. The support means a lot to me right now.
There are so many emotions all at once. Mostly just the shock. And it's very overwhelming to be faced with so much responsibility so suddenly. The worst thing is calling friends and relatives. I call them and say "This is Mom's Daughter," and hear their apprehension. Then I tell them and there's a gasping noise. Usually they cry for the next 20 minutes while asking for all the painful details and tell me how they just saw her last week and she was fine (I know, that's why it's shocking) and that they were going to have lunch this week, etc.
I also find myself doing stupid things. I went jogging in below freezing weather. Without gloves or a hat. And I feel a little mean because I don't really want to go do my dad's cooking and housekeeping and arrange the memorial. I want him to do it, but I know he won't.
Really, thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers...
