What do you do to save time?
Wondering what little tricks you all have to save time.. I pluck my eye brows while waiting at a traffic light (the light is so much better in the car than in my bathroom as well).. does anyone else have any thing that they do to save time?
Re: What do you do to save time?
I brush my teeth and check my email at the same time. (Electric toothbrush, so it takes two minutes.)
I have to admit the thought of you plucking your eyebrows at a light scares the crap out of me. What if you were to be rearended? You could lose an eye!
I do some dinner prep on the weekends so that weeknight meals are easier. Like last weekend I mixed up meatballs and rolled them out, froze them on a sheet pan uncooked. After they were frozen I put them in a freezer bag. Now I can take out how many ever meatballs we're going to need for dinner. It saves time and money.
I also do little mini quishes in a muffin tin with egg beaters and ham and veggies and a little cheese. I take them to work and pop them in the microwave for an easy breakfast.
I work out in the am, before work so that I'm not having to do it when I get home and fight for machines.
I try to do 15 minutes of cleaning each night. It saves me from having to do hours of cleaning on the weekends.
I get my clothes out of the closet while brushing my teeth.
I have a scrubber in my shower and I scrub the walls and tub a little each day while my conditioner is in my hair instead of having to spend any significant chunk of time doing it another time all at once.
I lay out my clothes the day/night before so I don't have to think about it the next day.
I empty my sink and have it cleaned each night so I am starting my day with a clean empty sink, making it much easier to keep up on continually instead of spending any large chunk of dreaded time in front of the sink doing dishes.
I pack up my leftovers as 'lunch ready', so they can just be grabbed for meals the next day, while I am cleaning up from dinner.
I use e-mealz for my meal planning, that has been a HUGE time saver for me. Oh the HOURS it has saved me. We have been doing it for a few weeks now and overall we are very happy with the recipes and meals we've had.
My biggest help has so far has been making my own 'flight plan' from the FLYlady's principles and techniques on her website and her emails. www.flylady.net
