baby update

there were three heartbeats today (6w4d) and all are measuring on track (between 6w0d and 6w3d). After a full year and two early losses, C is officially the most pregnant she's ever been. If all three persist to 8w, we'll be referred to a peri/MFM (standard procedure for HOM) to discuss risk factors, selective reduction, testing etc. To be totally honest, part of me hopes nature takes it course and there's only two by then so we aren't faced with any decisions. Seeing the heartbeats makes it a lot harder to be objective. The RE thought last week C would vanish (what its called when you basically have a blighted ovum in an early multiple preg) but it is now the biggest and strongest one. Crazy.

eta: just to be clear, i want C & the babies to be healthy and triplet pregnacies have a TON of risks (hence why they're referred out at 8w to discuss options). I am a little sick thinking about it. oye. but wow. three heartbeats?! and you could HEAR them.

Wow, that's so amazing! I hope that everyone stays in good health, but that you're not faced with any decisions you don't want to make. You guys are still in my thoughts. But soooo happy that you guys got to hear the heartbeats.

its so early yet - i had no idea they could get audible heartbeat at 6 weeks, individually - so lot of things could change. we shall see.

CONGRATS!!!!! I was WAITING for this post!!! YAY!!!! I am so excited for you both!!

I hope that everyone is healthy and that you won't have to make any difficult decisions. If you do come to that point, I hope that you are able to do so with as much ease as possible and be confident that the decision you make is the right one.

Sarah, 3 is def the max!! In a way that opens a lot of worms since its not a clear cut issue! Oye. I'm both excited and terrified to meet the peri if it comes to that in two weeks (extra issue: new job...I'll have to conference call to this. Can you even DO that?)
