This lady sells raw cow's milk, butter, and cream to our health food store. She is a darling lady. Really.
I think I was about 8-9 weeks pregnant, I already knew there were twins in there (but she did not know yet) and I mentioned to her that maybe if I hadn't been vegan, I might have tried the milk.
"Oh no, dear, you should start eating some animal protein. Veganism causes infertility."
And then I told her that I was pregnant with twins. She asked if I had done IVF, and told me I must be very fertile.
I told her that we had been on BCP and I had been dx'd with PCOS @ age 14. I think my weight loss helped my fertility, but that was the first I had ever heard of this news!
Also, a small update-ish like thing: When I had the N/T scan (which they both measured normal) the sonographer said they might be identical twins!
I had some cramping yesterday, but it turns out, embarassingly enough, to have been a a UTI. We got to see the babies, though, so that was nice. Baby A waved at us, rolled over, and kicked his sibling. And Baby B was awake for once!
I have been calling Baby A "My Grumpy Old Man" baby. (Imagine an old man yelling, "Get off my LAWN!!")
Re: So, I couldn't help but laugh
Oh dear.
Yay for getting to see the babies! How exciting!
How cool that you got to see the babies! This might be a dumb question but will you get to know for sure at some point if they're identical? Or do you not know for sure until they're born? (unless it's obvious that it's a boy and a girl during an u/s, then of course you would know they're fraternal) I just realized that I've never thought about this before.
Funny/weird about her comment to you! I hate when people make such general statements like "veganism causes IF". Nothing is ever that simple!
Some people say such silly things!! Haha.
You are pretty close to finding out the genders, right? Just a few more weeks? And I am guessing your OB can't tell if the are Identical or fraternal? Hopefully you can find out at birth, if you want to!
