Are You Ready for Snowmageddon?

Is everyone ready for Snowmagedden 2011? I'll probably have to work. Stick out tongue Lucky DH is already preparing to work from home. Do you have your bread, milk, and eggs? I spent 90 minutes at Publix on Saturday and just did my regular grocery shopping. If we are snowed in for days, the kwiki mart is 1/2 mile walk, Publix is a 3 mile bike ride on my mountain bike, and Kroger is about 1.5 miles away. We won't starve.

Re: Are You Ready for Snowmageddon?

  • We do our regular shopping on Saturdays too, but it wasn't too bad.  We even had to run out and get a few things today and there was BREAD ON THE SHELF at Kroger and Walmart.  Haha.  I bought ice cream and brownies and cheese-its and food for the game tomorrow night. War Eagle!

  • i still don't understand what good milk and eggs will do anyone if the power is out...do you eat them raw?? and if you have power....why not make regular food???

    so dumb.

  • My dad was sure to tell DH to be sure we had gas for the grill in case of a power outage. I'm really hoping I don't have to work tomorrow so I can stay home and play Wii with DH. Big Smile
  • My boss is supposed to fly in to Atlanta tomorrow night. I hope his flight get cancelled. *evil laugh*

I'm kinda with you.  I get the milk..you can just set it outside and keep it good for cereal or whatever.  I think the idea is to buy stuff you don't need to cook (sandwiches, etc) so I don't understand the egg thing either.

Maybe this is a dumb question but why is water such a hot commodity?  If the power goes out are you not supposed to use your tap water or something?
