Best place to buy NY-themed items

You know... tees, mugs, magnets, etc.  I am visiting my sister next weekend and wanted to bring a few things.  Especially looking for something that my 14-mo nephew can wear. I am okay with kitschy but I don't want anything too cheap-looking.

I am leaving from Newark, terminal B.  Normally, airports have an awesome selection of these sorts of things but it doesn't seem that they have any shops there with that kind of stuff. Any ideas?

Re: Best place to buy NY-themed items

  • There are a ton of shops with that stuff in the Times Square area.  I think one is called Phantom of Broadway.

  • I have seen some things outside the Union Square Green market.
  • It might be a bit overpriced, but I have found some great NYC gifts at the Cellar at Macys.  They have some really cute taxi cab/ ny themed cookies and I think they might have some sweet baby stuff.  We got some I <3 NY candy for our overnight bags for our wedding there.

My colleague who just moved here from Chicago got all of her family NYC themes gifts for Christmas, like McClure's pickles and Bloody Mary mix, black and white cookies, Empire state building legos, etc.  It was really cute.  I think she got a bunch of stuff from the shops at Grand Central.

    HTH!
