(XP on Crafts)
As many of you know, I got my first sewing machine for Christmas! I used to sew when I was younger, but always under close supervision of my mother. It's been at least a decade since I've even touched a sewing machine.
Today I took the time to finish my first project. It's very, very flawed (lots of uneven lines and I don't even really know what binding is or how to sew it properly...the pattern I used was NO HELP...). But here's my first completed project:
And here's my blog with more pictures of the process/completed item: http://littlelionslife.blogspot.com/2011/01/i-sew-rock.html#
And here's the website to the store where I bought the pattern (not so helpful with the sewing part, but it's how I got the design for the stitchery): http://www.cloft.com/MainStore/indexPatterns.html

You did a great job! Quiliting is such an art--and looks so difficult!
1. It looks great!
2. Binding is a ribbon or narrow piece of cloth folded and sewn over the edge of a fabric. It can be either decorative or it can be done to keep the fabric from fraying.
