Hi,
Coming into city next weekend for the night on Sat. Looking for some good recommendations of sushi restaurants and a fun place to hang after perhaps for some dancing! Any fun ideas are gladly welcomed. TIA
Re: 35th bday
I love Sushi Samba! They have a couple different locations depending on where you're going after, and I think you can make reservations right on their site.
Hopefully somebody can help with an idea of where to go hang. Happy Bday!
I would look at Opentable.com
If you can get in to Nobu downstairs, I would go there in a secong. Sushi Samba is OK, it tries too hard in my opinion to be trendy.

Here is the site for making reservations it also gives reviews and pricing. If you want an alternative restruant, my new favorite is MPD ( it is french american) Its in the meet packing district ( though the initals are MPD are meat packing Dist, thats not what it means, its really french for little breakfast) There are a ton of places to go after for drinks, Hotel bars, are great near by. I High ly recommend this place. The birthday parties I went to there were AMAZING!
Hi.
I agree with the avoiding Sushi Samba bit. It is true, they tend to try too hard - but they have also had a couple of run-ins with the Dept. of Health. And its "eh".
Nobu is a good one to fall back on if you like "the scene" - expect to pay more than other places, but the sushi is always good.
One of my FAVORITE places to go is Bond Street. Amazing sushi. *And yes, its on Bond Street in Soho. Also a bit pricey.

I also enjoy Morimoto

If you need more suggestions, give a shout. Im sushi obsessed.
As for the hanging out bit afterwards, I have no clue. I haven't been dancing in about a year and the club scene isn't what it used to be. I've gone to Pascha a whole bunch of times, and its always a good time.

I hope you find some place fabulous to whoop it up though!
