Please just stop talking

i've told my co-worker several times that the way she talks about my pregnancy size is inapproptiate.  to the point of saying to her "listen, it really makes me feel bad when you talk about how big i am and how huge i'm going to get"

Today i mentioned that apparently the pains i'm having are normal for a seond timer and she added "Well, yeah, plus you have a twins or a Brutus in there"

WTF?

I am not huge.  i've gained 8 lbs and started at 130.  yes, I'm showing but i don't look abnormal or disproportionately large.

Re: Please just stop talking

  • That's kinda rude...You should punch her and blame the hormones.

So far I've only gained 5 pounds....according to my scale which is pretty impressive considering what happened last time......50 pounds later.

How are you feeling? Are you planning on finding out what you are having?

  • Tell her you're going to sit on her if she says anything else.
  • Look, obviously she is crazy. But you should not talk to her about your pregnancy because she has not ability to do that with you without doing this apparently.
  • Drive a staple into her forehead every time she does it since merely asking her not to do it isn't registering with her.

  • Maybe stop mentioning anything pg related to her?  People are weird.

  • Good god, it pisses me off when people are like this.  Has she ever been pregnant?  Why do people think when you are pregnant it is suddenly okay to comment about your weight?  I know you've already talked to her, but I'm not sure of what you said.  You could try something like, "I would never comment on someone's size or weight, so the fact that I'm pregnant really doesn't give you the right to comment on mine" or something like that.

  • Yup, i think just not talking about it is the way to go.   I didn't get through to her asking nicely so i'll just have to keep my own mouth shut

  • I think you should punch her.
